  • Women's Classic All-Tournament Team 11/16-11/18 - Congratulations out to the 2012 EvCC Women's Classic All-Tournament Team. They are: Michelle Bromagem from Linn-Benton CC; Angie Sanchez from Tacoma CC; Airashay Rogers from Bellevue College; Rylie Holsinger from CC's of Spokane; Erin Feeney from Everett CC; Alex Kenney from Everett CC; Megan Shields from Lane CC. Tournament MVP was Simone Thompson from Lane CC.
  • Women's Classic Final Day - Sunday, November 18, 2012, was the final day of the Women's Basketball Classic.  Six teams were still playing on Sunday. In the first game of the day at 12pm, the Titans of Tacoma CC played the Roadrunners of Linn-Benton CC.  This was a close game final the start. At half time the score was 28-27 in favor of Tacoma. There were 7 lead changes and the largest lead was by 7 points. In the second half, Linn-Benton outscored Tacoma 29-23 to win the game 56-51.  Linn-Benton was awarded the a plaque as the Consolation Winner or 4th place. Tacoma took 6th place. The next game began at 2pm and was between the Bellevue College Bulldogs and the CC's of Spokane Sasquatch. This game was for 3rd & 5th places. With the loss of one of their top scorers and rebounders in their second game, other players for Bellevue had to step up. The half time score had Spokane beating Bellevue by 15 points - 35-20. Bellevue didn't give up though, they outscored Spokane in the second half by 10, yet it was not enough to overcome their score. Spokane took 3rd place with a score of 63-58.  The Championship Game started at 4pm and it was between the Titans of Lane CC and the Trojans of Everett CC. Both teams were close in Field Goal % for the first half - Lane was 39.5% while Everett was 39.4%.  However, their Free Throw %'s were definitely in Lane's favor - 88.2% to 54.5%. The score was 50-36 at half time with Lane leading. Lane kept that lead going into the second half and didn't let it go. Lane CC won the 17th Annual Women's Classic by a score of 88-69. Everett took 2nd place.   • Women's Classic results Day 2 - The 2nd day of the 17th Annual Classic started with Game 5 at 2:00pm. This loser out game was between the Hawks of Columbia Basin College and the Titans of Tacoma CC. The Hawks were behind at halftime 25-37, however they outscored the Titans in the second half 42-36, but it wasn't enough to over come the Titans overall score, 73-67. Tacoma advances to play the winner of Game 6 on Sunday. The 4pm Game 6, was between the Roadrunners of Linn-Benton CC and EvCC Alumni. Linn-Benton came to win and it showed in their play. They were ahead at half time 39-27 and at the end of the game 75-54. They will play Tacoma at 12pm on Sunday, 11/18.  The 6:00pm Game 7 had the Titans of Lane CC face the Bulldogs of Bellevue College. Lane dominated this game from the start of it. Score was 41-26 at half time in favor of Lane. Unfortunately, one of Bellevue's top players went down with a knee injury and that didn't help Bellevue at all. The final score was 71-54 with Lane moving onto the Championship game against the winner of Game 8 at 4pm on 11/18. Bellevue will play the loser of Game 8 at 2pm. Game 8 at 8pm had the Trojans facing the Sasquatch of CC's of Spokane. Everett led the whole game except for 1 tie. The largest margin was 15 points. At halftime the Trojans led 39-26, while at the end of the game, Spokane did outscore Everett 36-29, but the final score was 68-62.   • W. Soccer results from NWAACC Semi-final 11/17- The 2012 Women's Soccer Team advanced to the 2012 NWAACC semi-final game with Nationally ranked Peninsula College Pirates. The game took place at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA with a start time of 1pm.  On the cold and windy Saturday, both teams were looking to advance to the Championship Game. There was only one goal in the first half and it was scored by Pirates Briana Afoa in the 17th minute. Six minutes into the second half, Ashlyn Frizzelle from Peninsula scored their second goal, with Briana Afoa scoring her second and Peninsula's third goal eleven minutes later. The assist on that goal was from Ashlyn Crossan.  With a 0-3 deficit, the Trojans knew they had to fight back and score. In the 78th minute, Everett's Christina Jarvis scored with the assist from Lisa Echert.  Sadly, that was the only goal scored by the Trojans in this game. This 1-3 loss ends the Trojans season, while the win send the Pirates to the Championship game on 11/18.
  • Women's Classic results Day 1 - The 17th Annual Women's Basketball Classic took place at the Student Fitness Center over the 16th, 17th and 18th. In the 1st game, the Bulldogs of Bellevue College faced the Titans of Tacoma CC. Game started at 2pm and at half time the Bulldogs were up by 3; 28-25. At the end of the game, the Bulldogs were still ahead but by a larger margin - 60-49. Bellevue advances to the winner's bracket to play the winner of Game 2, while Tacoma moves to the losers bracket to play the loser of Game 2. Game two pitted Lane CC Titans versus Columbia Basin College Hawks. This game started at 4pm and at half time, the Titans had a commanding lead 43-29.  Even though the Hawks outscored the Titans in the second half, it wasn't enough, the Titans won 70-57.  In the 6pm game, the Sasquatch of the CC's of Spokane played the Roadrunners of Linn-Benton CC. The winner of this game will play the winner of the 8pm game, while the loser will play the loser of the 8pm game. At half, Spokane was ahead of Linn-Benton 27-14.  Dominating the second half, the Sasquatch scored 41 points to the Roadrunners 18 - winning the game 68-32. The 8pm game had the Trojans play the EvCC Alumni.  At half time, the current Trojans had a 7 point lead - 40-33.   • Volleyball results from 2012 NWAACC 11/15 - At the 2012 NWAACC Volleyball Championships, at Mt. Hood CC, the Everett's Volleyball Team faced the Thunderbirds of Highline CC at 11:30am in their first match.  The NWAACC Tournament is a true double elimination tournament - as in, if you lose one match, you can still come back and win the championship title. If you lose, two matches, you are done. The first games for everyone are 3 out of 5 sets, as is the winner's bracket. If a team goes to the loser's bracket, they play 2 out of 3 sets. In Everett's first match, all three sets were very close games with the scores being 25-23; 25-23 & 25-21. Unfortunately, the match was won by Highline CC. For Everett - Annie Ogle 15 kills; Alyssa Walker 11kills; Nicole Hayes 16 digs; Rebecca Stella 12 assists; Hailey Cross 15 assists. Highs for Highline - Mikaela Ballou 25 kills; Ashley Barnum 43 assists; Taylor Johnson 24 digs; Hailey Dunn 10 digs. The win sends Highline to play CC's of Spokane on 11/16, while the loss sends Everett to play at 6:30pm on 11/15 against Umpqua CC. The second match for both the Trojans and the Riverhawks was only 2 out of 3. To win, each team had to play all-out volleyball to continue on in the tournament. With scores of 25-16 & 25-15, the Riverhawks kept their hopes of obtaining the 2012 title alive. Highs for the Trojans - Annie Ogle with 7 kills; Rebecca Stella 8 assists; Hailey Cross with 7 assists and Katelyn Kelly with 5 digs. Highs for Umpqua - Kendahl Weiland and Nicole Hall each with 6 kills and Haley Webb with 11 assists.
  • Men's Basketball results with Rampage 11/14 - Wednesday night, the Trojan Men's Basketball Team hosted a scrimmage game against the Washington Rampage in the Student Fitness Center. The Rampage is a semi-pro team that is a member of the ABA Pacific Northwest.  Game began at 5:00pm and was a very competitive game. At half time, the score was 49-41 in favor of the Rampage.  In the second half, the Trojans outscored the Rampage 61-55. Being behind by 2, the Trojans threw up a last second 3 point shot for the win, and while it was close, it didn't drop in. Rampage won 104-102.  Highs for the Trojans - Flynn Mattson 21 points & 12 rebounds; Connor Donaldson 21 points & 11 rebounds; David Ware 16 points & 8 assists; RJ Magar 15 points; Rashad Jones 10 points. Highs for Rampage - Venoy Overton 39 points & 11 rebounds; Al Snow 25 points & 9 rebounds; Glen Hollin 12 points & 9 rebounds; Mack Dudlery 11 points.
  • 11/17 Women's Soccer plays in semi-finals of 2012 NWAACC Tournament - Everett's Women's Soccer Team will be in Tukwila, WA at Starfire Complex on Saturday 11/17 to play a semi-final game with the Pirates of Peninsula College starting at 1:00pm. This should be a very interesting/intense game as both teams are the 1st place team from their respective region - Everett in the North and Peninsula in the West. Peninsula is also an nationally ranked team. The winner of this game will advance to the Championship Game against the winner of the Clackamas CC/CC's of Spokane game which takes place at 10:30am. The Championship Game takes place at 3:00pm on Sunday November 18th.   
  • 11/16-11/18 Women's Basketball hosts 17th Annual Women's Classic - Over the weekend of November 16th - 18th, Everett CC will host 11 women's basketball games in three days. This is the 17th Annual EvCC Women's Classic. Game times for Friday & Saturday are 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8 pm; on Sunday game times are 12pm, 2pm and the Championship Game at 4pm. Game 1 - 2pm is Tacoma CC vs Bellevue College; Game 2 - 4pm is Columbia Basin College vs Lane CC; Game 3 - 6pm is Linn-Benton CC vs CC's of Spokane; Game 4 - 8pm is EvCC Alumni vs Everett.
  • Basketball results from Alumni games 11/11 - Sunday evening, past and present Trojan Basketball players met up in Alumni games. The women started the evening out at 4pm, with the men following at 6pm. Women Alumni had 7 former players while the Men's Alumni had 8.  The Women's game was pretty close all game, however the present Trojans won 74-68. Current players - Erin Feeney had 36 points and 10 rebounds, while Alyssa Brazel had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Former players - Kristina Schumacher had 34 points; Anna Work had 12 points, 7 rebounds & 7 assists;  Ashley Housden had 11 points and 14 rebounds. In the Men's Game, the current roster was leading at half time by 4 points, however in the second half, the alumni came alive and outscored the current 61-49. The alumni won 109-98. Current players - Jarrell Banks 23 points, 9 rebounds; David Ware 20 points & 6 assists; Flynn Mattson 10 points & 10 rebounds; Jake Allen 10 points; Zach Cooper 11 points. Past players - Pat Mattson 27 points & 12 rebounds; Aaron Matzen 26 points & 9 rebounds; Nate Sabin 19 points; and current Co-Head Coach Darrell Walker with 15 points.

  • 11/15 Volleyball participates in 2012 NWAACC Tournament - The Volleyball Team will attend the 2012 NWAACC Championships in Gresham, OR on the campus of Mt. Hood CC. The tournament is a 4 day event with the Trojans first match being at 11:30am on Thursday Nov. 15th against the Thunderbirds of Highline CC. If the Trojans win, they will play at 10am on Nov. 16th against the winner of game #3 (East #3 CC's of Spokane or South #2). If the Trojans lose, they will play at 6:30pm in a loser out match against the loser of game #3.
  • 11/14 Men's Basketball host Washington Rampage - The Men's Basketball Team will host ABA team - Washington Rampage in a scrimmage game on Wednesday Nov. 14th. Game will be played in the Student Fitness Center with a start time of 5:00pm. Admission is free to all!
  • Women's Soccer advance to Semi-finals 11/10 - Northern Region Champions - Everett Women's Soccer Team hosted the Eastern Region's 2nd place team the Warriors of Walla Walla CC on Saturday Nov. 10th, at Kasch Park starting at 12pm. This was a loser out game, with the winner advancing to the 2012 NWAACC Semi-Finals that take place on Saturday Nov. 17th.  The game was intense from beginning to end, yet Everett scored the only goal in the 16th minute, by Kassandra Blakely who was assisted by Lisa Echert. Nicole Alverez recorded the shutout for the Trojans. Everett's overall record now is 12-4-3 while Walla Walla's overall record is 14-3-3.  The Trojans will face Peninsula at 1:00pm on Saturday Nov. 17th at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA.
  • Volleyball Tie-Breaker results 11/8 - Everett Volleyball hosted Edmonds CC in a tie-breaker match to see who would attend the 2012 NWAACC Volleyball Championships as the 4th place seed from the Northern Region on Thursday night, 11/8/12. Both teams were tied for 4th place in league with a 4-8 record. The match began at 7pm in the Student Fitness Center. The match went 5 close sets, just like it did when the Tritons were at Everett on Oct. 30th. Also, just like on Oct. 30th, the Tritons won the first two sets (25-22; 25-23) and the Trojans won the final three (25-21; 25-18; 17-15). This match takes Everett to 5-8 in league and 6-21 overall while Edmonds finishes their 2012 season 4-9 in league and 9-23 overall. The Trojans will attend the NWAACC Championships in Gresham, OR on the campus of Mt. Hood CC.   • 11/11 Basketball Teams play Alumni - Sunday afternoon/evening, the Trojan Basketball Teams will play their respective Alumni Teams in scrimmage games. The Women's scrimmage will begin at 4:00pm with the Men's scrimmage beginning at 6:00pm, both games will take place in the Student Fitness Center. Everett Alumni teams will consist of past players from both teams. Some of those Alumni will be: Women: Anna Work (2009-2010); Ashley Housden (2009-10); Maddie Molenda (2008-2010);l Ciara Papac (2000-2002); Hilary Wick (2003-04)l; Morgan Thomas (2008-2010); Racheal Boehme (2006-07); Karissa Tri (2008-10); Sadie (Ramstad) Hoekendorf. Men: Pat Mattson (2003-2005); Chris Grounds (2007-2009); Andre Piper-Jordan (2003-04); Devin Andrews (2010-2012); Aaron Matzson (2009-2011); Harinder Singh (2008-2010); Terry Evans.  
  • Men's Soccer results from 1st Round of Playoffs 11/7 - The Trojan Men's Soccer Team traveled to Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA to play a playoff game with the Thunderbirds of Highline CC on Wednesday, Nov. 7th. This was a loser out/winner moves on to play the #1 team from the Southern Region game. The Trojans were the Northern Region #3 team while Highline was the West Region #2. The game started at 3:00pm, and in the first 3 minutes of the game, the first goal was scored. It was by David Loeung of Highline and assisted by Kyle Danielson. Highline's Austin Egerton scored their second goal in the 19th minute and he was assisted by David Loeung. Two minutes later, Cole Madden of the Thunderbirds scored their third goal in the 21st minute. He was assisted by Austin Egerton. After those three goals, the score going into half time was 3-0 in favor of Highline CC.  After a 15 minute half time, both teams came out looking to score, Everett looking to catch up also. However, at the end of the second half, the score remained 3-0 Highline. The Thunderbirds will move onto the 2nd round of playoffs and play at Clark College on Saturday Nov. 10th.  They have an overall record of 11-4-3. This loss ends the Trojans 2012 season. They finish with an overall record of 8-7-1. 
  • 11/8 Volleyball hosts Edmonds - On Thursday, November 8th, the tie-breaker match will take place at Everett CC against Edmonds CC. Both teams are tied for 4th place and have a league record of 4-8. They must play a tie-breaker match to determine who will attend the 2012 NWAACC Championship Tournament as the 4th place seed from the Northern Region. The match will be played in the Student Fitness Center and begin at 7:00pm. Admission is $5.00 per person, except for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID - they are Free!
  • 11/10 NWAACC 2nd Round Soccer Playoffs - Saturday, Nov. 10th is the day of the 2nd Round of the 2012 NWAACC Soccer Playoffs. Winners of the 1st Round will play at the 1st Place teams of each region, as they had a bye in the first round. Northern Region's Women's 1st place Everett will host the Walla Walla CC Warriors at 12pm on Field #2 at Kasch Park. Walla Walla CC was the East's #2 team who beat the South's #3 team of Clark College in the 1st round. The winner of this game will advance to the semi-finals that will take place at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA on Saturday Nov. 17th. The Championship Games will take place on Sunday Nov. 18th at Starfire Complex.
  • 11/10 NWAACC 2012 Cross Country Championships - The 2012 NWAACC Cross Country Championships will take place at Plantes Ferry Park in Spokane, WA. The 8000 meter Men's race begins at 11:00am with the 5000 meter Women's race begins at 12:00pm.
  • 11/8 Volleyball Tie-Breaker - Thursday, November 8th, the Trojan Volleyball Team will play a tie-breaker match against either Edmonds CC or Whatcom CC. After the league game between Edmonds & Whatcom on Tuesday, Nov. 6th, one of these teams will be tied with Everett for 4th place in the Northern Region. With only the top four teams moving onto the 2012 NWAACC Volleyball Championships, there will be a tie-breaker to see who goes in the 4th spot for the North. If Edmonds wins, the tie-breaker will take place at Everett CC, however, if Whatcom wins, the tie-breaker match will be at Whatcom. Either way, the game will begin at 7pm.
  • 11/7 NWAACC 1st Round Soccer Playoffs - Wednesday, November 7th, is the day that the 1st round begins for the 2012 NWAACC Soccer Playoffs. With their 3rd place finish, the Trojan Men take on the West's 2nd place Highline CC staring at 3pm at Starfire Field in Tukwila, WA. The Playoffs are a single elimination and the winner of this game will play the 1st place team from the South - Clark College - in Vancouver, WA on Saturday, November 10th at 12:15pm. The Trojan Women have a bye in the 1st round due to their 1st place finish. They will play the winner of the Clark College/Walla Walla CC game at 12pm on Saturday, November 10th on Field #2 at Kasch Park.
  • Soccer splits @ Whatcom 11/3 - Saturday afternoon, the Trojan Soccer Teams were in Bellingham, WA playing their final regular season league games of the 2012 season against the Orcas of Whatcom CC. The Women started the day off starting at 12pm. The game was a defensive game and went into half time with a 0-0 score. It wasn't until the 84th minute that there was a goal. It was by Everett's Tia Carrillo who was assisted by Lisa Echert. Six minutes later at the 90 minute mark, that was still the score 1-0 in favor of Everett. Nicole Alvarez recorded the shutout for Everett. The Trojans are in 1st place in the North with a league record of 11-2-2 with 35 points and an overall record of 11-4-3. The Orcas are tied for 2nd place with Shoreline CC with a league record of 8-3-4. The Men's game began at 2:15pm and this game was also a defensive game. The score at half time was 0-0. The only goal scored wasn't until the 74th minute and it was by Alex Gosselin of Whatcom CC. Riley Liddle recorded the shutout for the Orcas.  With this win, the Orcas secured their position in 2nd place in the North with a 8-3-2 league record with 26 points and an overall record of 8-4-3. The Trojans are in 3rd place in the North with a league record of 7-5-1 with 22 points and overall record of 8-6-1.
  • Volleyball loses in three to Shoreline 11/2 - The Trojan Volleyball Team was in Seattle, WA to play the final regular season league match of the 2012 season at Shoreline CC against the Dolphins on Friday night.  Shoreline won the match in three sets with scores of 25-14; 25-17; and 25-18.  This secured the Dolphins spot as the third place team of the Northern Region with a league record of 8-3 and overall record of 14-17. The Trojans are 4-8 in league and 5-21 overall and are in 4th place, however they have to wait to until the the results of the Edmonds/Whatcom game on Tuesday 11/6. Both Edmonds & Whatcom are 3-8 in league and whomever wins will be tied with Everett for 4th place creating the need for a tie-breaker match. Trojan Highs: Rebecca Stella - 9 kills, 11 assists; Vanessa Van Eyk - 11 digs; Hailey Cross - 11 assists. Dolphins Highs: Lauren Deatrick - 12 kills, 8 digs; Jalyn Anderson 37 assists; Arianna Garcia - 10 kills.
  • Men's Basketball scrimmage 11/2 - The 2012-13 Men's Basketball Team played a scrimmage with the Washington Athletic Club on Friday evening. The coaches were able to mix up players to see who works well together, along with learn what things they need to work on in practices. Here are some of the stats for the Trojans: Jake Allen 12 rebounds; Connor Donaldson 17 points; David Ware 16 points & 7 assists; RJ Magar 14 points; Jarrell Banks 13 points.
  • Women's Soccer 2012 Northern Region Champions - With the win over Skagit Valley College, the Trojan Women's Soccer Team secured their position as the #1 Women's Team in the Northern Region and the 2012 Northern Region Champions. This is the third year in a row that the Women have been the Northern Region Soccer Champs. Congratulations to the team and coaches! Great job and great season!
  • Soccer sweeps Skagit Valley 10/31 - The Men's & Women's Soccer Teams were in Mt. Vernon, WA to play league games against the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Wednesday October 31st. The Women's game began at 1:00pm. In the 22nd minute, Kassandra Blakely for the Trojans scored the first goal of the game and was assisted by Lisa Echert.  Kassandra also scored in the 37th minute (assisted by Katie Hungerford) and at the 45 minute mark (assisted by Brandi Doggett) for a hat trick.  Going into half time, the Trojans had the lead 3-0.  After the second half started, Lisa Echert scored in the 57th minute, assisted by RaeAnne Kuchler to make it 4-0. Trojan Christina Jarvis scored the fifth goal in the 79th minute and was assisted by Lisa Echert. Skagit Women were unable to score on the Trojans in the 90 minute game and the Trojans won 5-0.  This win takes the Trojans to 10-2-2 in league with 32 points and 10-4-3 overall. Skagit Women are 4-7-3 in league with 15 points and 5-9-4 overall. In the Men's game that began at 3:15pm, Everett scored first with a goal by Grayson Knott at the 20 minute mark.  The Cardinals rallied and scored in the 25th minute by Cristian Rivas. That was all of the scoring in the first half. 1-1 into halftime. With about 20 minutes left in the game, Grayson Knott scored again for the Trojans. Ten minutes later Trevor Cook for Skagit scored for the Cardinals to make it 2-2. At the 88th minute mark, Grayson Knott scored once again for the Trojans and that was how it ended 3-2 in favor of the Trojans! Everett Men are now 7-4-1 in league with 22 points and 8-5-1 overall, while Skagit Valley is 3-8-1 in league with 10 points and 5-11-1 overall.

  • Volleyball win in 5 over Edmonds 10/30 - Tuesday, October 30th, the Trojan Volleyball Team held their last home league game of the 2012 season. Before the match began, the six sophomores were acknowledged and thanked for their dedication to EvCC & Trojan Volleyball. Those sophomores are: Asha Lorden, Rebecca Stella, Nicole Hayes, Annie Ogle, Katelyn Kelly, Hailey Cross. After the sophomore acknowledgement, there was the National Anthem and complete line-ups for both teams. After winning the first two sets 25-15 & 25-21, Edmonds didn't realize they would have a fight on their hands for the third set. The Trojans were not gonna go down without a fight and it showed not just in the game but also on the score - Everett won 27-25. This sent it to the fourth set - if Edmonds were to win - match over; however if Everett won - fifth & deciding game would have to be played to 15.  The fourth set went back & forth between the teams until the Trojans took charge to finish with a score of 25-17, forcing a fifth game. In the fifth set, the Tritons of Edmonds tried to keep it close, however, the Trojans were able to take the lead and keep it, winning 15-12.  Everett is now 4-7 in league and 5-20 overall, while Edmonds is 3-8 in league and 8-22 overall.   • 11/3 Soccer @ Whatcom - The last league games of the 2012 Trojan Soccer seasons will be at Whatcom CC in Bellingham, WA on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3rd. The Women's game starts the day off at 12:00pm with the Men's game to follow at 2:15pm. Both Everett teams and Whatcom teams are in the top 3 in the Northern Region along with Edmonds CC.   • 11/3 Women's Basketball scrimmages at Wenatchee Valley - Saturday, November 3rd, the Women's Basketball Team travels to play a scrimmage game in Wenatchee, WA at Wenatchee Valley College. Trojans first scrimmage is at 12:00pm against Wenatchee Valley. At 2:15pm the Trojans will play Northwest All-Stars and at 3:00pm they play Big Bend CC. Each game will last about 40 minutes.   • Women's Soccer beats Green River 10/27 - At Kasch Park in the afternoon of October 27th, the Women's Soccer team hosted a league game against the Green River CC Gators. Game began at 12:00pm on field #2 in the rain and wind. Going into the game, the Trojans were 8-2-2 in league while the Gators were 2-8-1 in league. The Trojans showed why they have 8 wins, by Riley Henderson getting a hat trick by scoring three goals for Everett. She scored in the 16th minute, assisted by Lisa Echert; in the 55th minute, assisted by Aly Morgan; and in the 65th minute. This took the Trojans to 9-2-2 in league an overall 9-4-3, with 29 points, Green River is now 2-9-1 in league and overall 4-10-2 with 7 points.
  • Men's & Women's Cross Country take Northern Region 2012 Titles 10/26 - On Friday afternoon, Olympic College hosted the 2012 Northern Region Cross Country Championships at the Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, WA. Both Everett Teams made a tremendous showing in each race. In the Women's race, Everett took the top nine spots earning the lowest team score of 15. Green River took second place with 58 points. Highline CC, Olympic College and Skagit Valley College did not have enough runners to compute team scores. In the Men's race, Everett's Men took the top six spots, also earning the lowest score of 15. Green River CC took second with 55 points, Highline CC took third with 98 points, Olympic College took fourth with 103 points and Skagit Valley College took fifth with 104 points. Veronica Hall was the Women's winner with a time of 18:53. Habtamu Rubio was the Men's winner with a time of 26:39. This is the 6th year in a row that the Women have won the title and the 7th year in a row for the Men. Both teams will be looking onto the 2012 NWAACC Championship race on November 10th in Spokane, WA to show all of NWAACC, that Everett Cross Country is the team to beat!
  • Volleyball loses to Green River 10/26 - Friday October 26th, the Gators of Green River CC were in town to play a non-league match with the Trojans. First set started at 7:00pm in the Student Fitness Center. In the 3 out of 5 match, the Gators won 3 sets to the Trojans 1 set. Game scores were 25-13, 23-25, 25-13, 25-20 in favor of Green River. Highs for Everett: Rebecca Stella 10 kills, 11 assists; Hailey Cross 14 assists 7 digs; Nicole Hayes & Katelyn Kelly with 9 digs each.   • 10/31 Soccer travels to Skagit Valley - On Wednesday, October 31st, the Trojan Soccer Teams will travel to Mt. Vernon, WA to play league games with the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College. The Women's game begins at 1:00pm with the Men's game to begin at 3:15pm. Soccer field is on the campus of SVC and directions to the game can be found under the directions link to the left. Everett's Women are 9-2-2 in league with 29 points, Skagit Women are 4-6-3 in league with 15 points. Everett Men are 6-4-1 in league with 19 points while Skagit Men are 3-7-1 in league with 10 points.
  • 10/30 Volleyball hosts Edmonds in last home game of 2012 - Tuesday, October 30th, the Trojan Volleyball Team will host the Tritons of Edmonds CC in the last home game of the 2012 season. This is a 3 out of 5 league match. Match begins at 7:00pm in the Student Fitness Center. Both teams are 3-7 in league and tied for 4th place in the Northern Region.
  • Volleyball beats Skagit Valley 10/24 - The Cardinals of Skagit Valley College were in Everett on Wednesday, Oct. 24th to play a league match with the Trojans. The match began at 7:00pm in the Student Fitness Center and was a 3 out of 5 match. In the first set, the Cardinals out played the Trojans barely, winning 25-22. The Trojans came back to win the next two sets 25-21 & 25-20. The fourth set was a crucial game, as if the Trojans won, they would win the match, however, if the Cardinals won, it would force a 5th and deciding game. With another close game, the Cardinals won 25-21, sending it to the 5th set. The 5th set is only to 15 points with a must win by two points and teams switch sides at 8 points. The game went back and forth and ended with the Trojans winning 16-14. The Trojans are now 3-7 in league and 4-19 overall, while the Cardinals are 1-8 in league and 7-17 overall. Highs for the Trojans are: Annie Ogle with 17 kills; Rebecca Stella with 14 kills & 20 assists; Hailey Cross with 24 assists & 11 digs; and Nicole Hayes with 17 digs. Highs for the Cardinals are: Chynna Lowffler with 10 kills, Brittany Parmentier with 10 kills, Kayla Bell with 40 assists & 10 digs; and Janinie De Guzman with 19 digs.
  • Soccer splits with Edmonds 10/24 - In the Men's game with the Tritons of Edmonds CC that began at 1:00pm, the Tritons scored twice in the first half. Eli Seye in the 17th minute and Dendon Russom in the 38th minute, assisted by Carlos Videla-Pousa.  After half time, neither team was able to score thus ending the game with a score of 2-0 in favor of Edmonds. Both Edmonds & Everett's Men's Teams have secured their post season play for the Northern Region. Edmonds is 8-2-1 in league and overall 9-6-2 with 25 points. Everett is 6-4-1 in league and 7-5-1 overall with 19 points. The Women's game began at 3:15pm and pitted Northern Region 1st place Everett vs 3rd place Edmonds. Neither team has secured their spot in post season play, as there are still teams that have opportunities to be in the top three spots in the North. In the game, neither team scored in the first half, however each had opportunites to do so. In the second half, Katie Hungerford for Everett scored in the 74th minute and was followed by Riley Henderson in the 83rd minute. Brianna Haimes assisted Riley in her goal. At the 89th minute, Annelise Coxeff for Edmonds scored. And at the 90 minute mark, the Trojans were ahead 2-1 and take the win. The Trojan Women are 8-2-2 in league and 8-4-3 overall with 26 points, and Edmonds Women are 5-3-4 in league and 7-4-5 overall with 19 points.
  • 10/27 Women's Soccer v Green River - The Gators of Green River CC will be in Everett on Saturday, October 27th to play a league game with the Trojans Women's Soccer Team.   • Volleyball results from 10/22 - On Monday, Oct. 22nd, the Trojan Volleyball Team traveled to Bremerton, WA to play the Olympic College Rangers in league play. The match began at 7:00pm, and in the 3 sets, the Rangers showed why they are the number two team in the Northern Region. They won with scores of 25-19; 25-12; 25-10. Trojan highs came from Hailey Cross with 13 assists; Annie Ogle with 9 kills and Asha Lorden with 11 digs. Ranger highs were KC Fossum with 16 kills, Jaclyn Jordan with 38 assists & 15 digs; and Monica Phinney with 9 kills & 10 digs. The Trojans are now 2-7 in league and overall are 3-19 while the Rangers are 8-1 in league and have an overall record of 24-7.

  • 10/26 Volleyball v Green River - Friday, October 26th, the Gators of Green River CC will be in Everett to play a make-up non-league match with the Trojans. The match was originally scheduled to be played on September 12th, but due to scheduling issues, it had to be re-scheduled. It will begin at 7:00pm in the Student Fitness Center. Cost of admission is $5.00 per person (12 years +), and free for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID.
  • Soccer results from 10/20 - Both Trojan Soccer Teams were in Seattle, WA on Saturday, October 20th to play league games at Shoreline CC. The Women's game started at 12:00pm and showing why they are the #1 team in the Northern Region, the Trojans won 2-0 over the Dolphins. Riley Henderson scored in the 27th minute and Taija Bjorgo scored inthe 45th minute. The Trojan Women are now 7-2-2 in league and have an overall record of 7-4-3 with 23 points, 8 shutouts, 29 goals for and 9 goals against. Shoreline Women are 5-2-3 in league and 6-4-3 overall with 18 points, 5 shutouts, 27 goals for and 12 goals against. In the Men's game that began at 2:15pm, there was only one goal in the first half - at the 40th minute by Everett's Omar Macias who was assisted by Jorge Avila. With the score of 1-0 going into the second half, that was how it ended as well, with the Trojans getting the "W". Everett Men are now in second place in the North with a league record of 6-3-1 and overall record of 7-4-1 with 19 points, 4 shutouts, 18 goals for and 22 goals against. Shoreline Men are in last place with a 0-10-0 league record and 0-13-0 overall record, with 0 points, 0 shutouts, 9 goals for and 63 goals against.
  • Volleyball results from 10/19 - Friday October 19th, the Volleyball Team played a league match against Whatcom Community College at the Student Fitness Center. The first two sets were back and forth, one team would get a head by a couple then the other team would catch up. Both games went to a final score of 27-25, unfortunately, the wins went to Whatcom. In the third set, Whatcom took an early lead, however, the Trojans fought back to 17, but the Orcas won with a score of 25-17, to take the match. Trojan highs were Rebecca Stella with 24 assists, Nicole Hayes 10 digs, Vanessa Van Eyk with 11 kills, and Annie Ogle with 12 kills. Highs for Whatcom were Brittney DeJager with 26 assists, Libby Moore with 10 kills and 8 digs, Alicia Ford with 10 kills and Kathryn Bailey with 9 kills. Everett is now 2-6 in league and 3-18 overall, while Whatcom is 2-5 in league and 5-15 overall.

  • 10/24 Soccer v Edmonds - The Men's & Women's Soccer Teams will host the Tritons of Edmonds CC in league play on Wednesday October 24th. The Men's game will begin at 1:00pm followed by the Women's game at 3:15pm. Going into these games, the Trojan Men are in 2nd place in the North with a 6-3-1 league record behind Edmonds who has a 7-2-1 league record. The Trojan Women are in 1st place in the North with a 7-2-2 record and Edmonds is in 3rd with a league record of 5-2-4.  The games will be played on Field #2 at Kasch Park and admission is free to all.
  • 3rd NWAACC Coaches Polls - NWAACC released the third fall seasons Coaches Polls of 2012 on October 18th. On the Women's Soccer Poll,  the Trojans moved up one spot from the previous poll of 8th to 7th. The only other Northern Region schools on the poll were Whatcom in #4 (up from 6th) and Shoreline received votes. The Men's Soccer Poll only had Edmonds in the top 8 in the 6th spot (up from 7th), while Everett did receive votes for the first time this season. The Volleyball poll had only one team from the North on it - Bellevue in the 7th spot - down from 6th and Olympic received votes. Complete poll results can be found on the Blog.
  • Volleyball results from 10/17 - Bellevue College was in Everett on Wednesday October 17th for a league match with the Trojans. In the 3 out of 5 match, the first game was a close one ending with the score being 26-24, however the Bulldogs beat the Trojans. The next two games were for the most part easy wins for the Bulldogs, winning 25-7 & 25-6. With this win, Bellevue is still undefeated in league play 7-0 and 22-9 overall. The Trojans are now 2-5 in league and 3-17 overall. Highs for the Trojans were Alyssa Walker with 5 kills, Rebecca Stella with 10 assists and Nicole Hayes with 10 digs. Bellevue highs were Kylai Cooley with 10 kills, Krista Groves with 26 assists and Madison Agnew with 18 digs.

  • 10/20 Soccer @ Shoreline - The Trojan Soccer Teams will be playing a league game with the Dolphins of Shoreline CC on Saturday Oct. 20th. The Women's Game begins at 12:00pm followed by the Men's Game at 2:15pm. This is the second time they have met this season. In the first meeting, the Trojan Women won 1-0 and the Trojan Men won 5-1.  The games will be in Seattle at Shoreline CC. Directions to ShCC can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • Volleyball Player of the Week #7 - Trojan Sophomore, Asha Lorden was named Northern Region Defensive Player of the Week for week #7 for her performance for the week of October 8th - October 14th. With being named for the Northern Region Defensive POW, she was in the running for the NWAACC Defensive POW, however that went to a player from Yakima Valley. Also from the North, Offensive POW - KC Fossum and Setter POW - Jaclyn Jordan both from Olympic. Jaclyn Jordan was named the NWAACC Setter POW, while Gwen Letuala from Green River was the NWAACC Offensive POW.
  • 10/19 Volleyball plays Whatcom - Friday night at 7:00pm, the Trojans will take on the Orcas of Whatcom CC in league play. This will be a 3 our of 5 match and will be played in the Student Fitness Center. This is the second meeting between the teams with Everett winning the last time. Admission is $5.00 per person 12 years old and up, or Free for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID.
  • Congratulations Annie Ogle - Trojan Volleyball player, Annie Ogle was named to the 2012 Pierce College Crossover Tournament All-Tournament Team for her performance at the tournament. Annie is a sophomore from Lynnwood High School.
  • Volleyball results from Pierce Crossover 10/12 & 10/13 - Everett's Volleyball Team was in Lakewood, WA participating in the 2012 Pierce College Volleyball Crossover Tournament on Friday Oct. 12th & Saturday Oct. 13th. Pool play was 2 out of 3 with bracket play 3 out of 5. They started out the host Pierce College at 11am on Friday.  The Raiders won in two with scores of 25-9; 25-17. The next game was at 12:30pm against the Roadrunners of Linn-Benton CC. This match went 3 games with the Trojans winning the first and third set with scores of 25-16; 14-25; 15-13.  The final pool play match was against Treasure Valley CC Chukars at 6:30pm. This match also went three sets, however, the Chukars won this one with scores being 12-25; 25-22; 15-11. The Trojans along with Treasure Valley were to play in the C Bracket on Saturday, with Everett being the #3 seed overall in that bracket. They faced the Penguins of Clark College at 9am.  With scores of 25-20; 25-23; 25-16, the Penguins won the match and thus sending the Trojans to the loser out bracket. In their next match at 11:00am, the Trojans were pitted against the Trailblazers from Centralia College who lost to Treasure Valley CC at 9am. The Trailblazers proved too much for the Trojans winning in three sets - 25-19; 25-22; 25-20.  The Trojans overall record is now 3-16. 
     
  • Women's Soccer results from 10/13 - The Women's Soccer Team hosted Clackamas CC on Saturday October 13th in league play at Kasch Park. Game started at 12:00pm and was the first meeting between the two teams. Clackamas is the first place team from the Southern Region while Everett is in second in the North.  With two goals by Taylor Ficek in the first half (at the 11 minute mark and the 15 minute mark), Clackamas won the game 2-0. Melanie Trumbull recorded the shut out for the Cougars. This takes the Trojans to a 6-2-1 league record and an overall record of 6-4-2. Clackamas is now 7-2-0 in league and 8-3-0 overall.
  • 10/17 Volleyball hosts Bellevue - The Bellevue Bulldogs will be in town on Wednesday, Oct. 10th to play a league match with the Trojans. This is the second league meeting between the two teams, as this is the start of the second half of league play for both. The game will be at 7:00pm and be played at the Student Fitness Center.   • Volleyball results from 10/10 - The Everett Volleyball Team was at Green River CC in Auburn, WA to play a non-league game with the Gators. The Gators showed why they are in 2nd place in the Western Region - beating the Trojans in three games with scores of 25-16; 25-17 & 25-20. Vanessa Van Eyk had 10 kills, Hailey Cross had 22 assists, Asha Lorden & Nicole Hayes each had 9 digs for the Trojans. For the Gators highs were: Gwen Leituala with 13 kills & 11 digs, Agnes Eneliko and Charisma Toilolo each had 14 assists. The Trojans are now 2-13 overall and 2-4 in league while the Gators are 14-6 overall and 5-1 in league.
  • Soccer results from 10/10 - The Trojans had league games with the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Wednesday October 10th. The Women's game began at 2pm with the Men's game at 4:15pm. In the Women's game, Lisa Echert scored the Trojans first goal at 15:46 and the assist went to Taija Bjorgo. With no other scores in the first half, the Trojans went into half time ahead 1-0. The second half was all Trojan ball. Tia Carrillo scored, assisted by Lisa Echert at 71:16. And at 73:27 Lisa Echert scored again for the Trojans with the assist from Tia Carrillo. This takes the Trojan Women to 6-1-1 in league and 6-3-2 overall. The Cardinal Women are 3-4-2 in league and 4-6-3 overall. In the Men's game, at 9:50 Jorge Avila scored for the Trojans and was assisted by Miki Brown. A little over 7 minutes later, Miki Brown scored for the Trojans at 17:20. At the 26 minute mark, Abel Bekele for the Cardinals scored their first goal of the game. Then before halftime, at 43:10, Everett scored again with a goal from Manny Aguirre-Granados and assisted by Jorge Avila. That made it 3-1 in favor of the Trojans going into halftime. The Cardinals came back in the second half scoring two goals to tie it up - one at 54:20 by Yosuke Fukamu and one at 63:10 by Christian Rivas. A little over a minute after Skagit scored their third goal, Miki Brown scored his second goal of the game for Everett at 64:40 who was assisted by Fredy Lopez. With this goal, the Trojan go up 4-3 and that is how the game ends. This win takes the Trojan Men to a league record of 5-2-1 and an overall record of 6-3-1. The Cardinal Men are now 2-5-1 in league and 4-7-1 overall.

  • 10/12 - 10/13 Volleyball @ Pierce Crossover - The Trojan Volleyball Team will be in Lakewood, WA to participate in the 2012 Pierce College Crossover Tournament. This is a two day event on the campus of Pierce College. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pierce is asking that everyone wear pink in support of this cause. The Trojans first match will be at 11:00am on Friday v Pierce College, they will play Linn-Benton CC at 12:30pm and at 6:30pm they will play Treasure Valley CC. Friday's games will be 2 out of 3 matches. Saturday will be bracket play and all matches will be 3 out of 5. Bracket play will be determined on how Friday's games go. There will be two brackets and top two teams from all three pools will play in the W bracket while the bottom two teams from each pool will play in the C bracket.
  • Soccer results from 10/6 - The Trojan Soccer Teams were in Coos Bay, OR to play league games with the Southwestern Oregon CC Lakers on Saturday October 6th. The Women started the day off, starting at 12:00pm. No times of the goals were turned in, however, Everett scored 10 goals with SWOCC scoring 0. Goals for Everett were from: Melissa Dreves, 2 from Kassandra Blakely, Lauren Nolte, Aly Morgan, Lisa Echert, Brandi Doggett, Tia Carrillo, and 2 from Riley Henderson. Those with assists were: Lisa Echert had 3, Riley Henderson had 2, and Brittany Derosier, Jessica Johnson, Katie Hungerford and Tia Carrillo each had 1 assist.  Everett Women are now 5-1-1 in league and 5-3-2 overall. SWOCC Women are 0-6-1 in league and 0-8-1 overall. The Men's game started at 2:15pm. The first goal wasn't scored until the 40th minute in the first half and that was by Everett's Fredy Lopez. Going into half time it was 1-0 in favor of the Trojans. At the 64 minute mark, Chris Kirkpatrick of the Trojans scored to make it 2-0, and that was how it ended.   • Volleyball results from 10/5 - Friday night on October, 5th, the Dolphins of Shoreline CC were in town to play the Trojans in league play. The match started at 7:00pm. Shoreline won in 3 with scores of 25-15; 25-20; 25-18. No stats were reported. The Trojans are now 2-4 in league and 2-11 overall while Shoreline is 4-1 in league and 7-9 overall.
  • 10/10 Volleyball @ Green River - The Volleyball Team will play a non-league match in Auburn, WA against the Gators of Green River CC. The first set will begin at 7pm. Directions to GRCC can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • 10/10 Soccer @ Skagit Valley - On Wednesday, October 10th, the Men's & Women's Soccer Teams will host the Skagit Valley College Cardinals in league play.  This is the first meeting between Everett & Skagit Valley. They will meet again on October 31, in Mt. Vernon. October 10th's games will be played at Kasch Park in Everett and will start with the Women's game at 2:00pm followed by the Men's game at 4:15pm.   • Volleyball Coaches Poll released 10/4 - On October 4, 2012, the NWAACC released the second Volleyball Coaches Poll of the 2012 season.  The top spot was once again held by Blue Mountain CC with a 25-0 record. There were two Northern Region schools in the top eight - Bellevue College in the 6th spot with a 16-6 record and Olympic College in the 7th spot with a 16-5 record.   • Cross Country Athletes of the Week - Week #4 Athletes of the Week for Cross Country were announced on October 4th.  Coaches nominated and voted for the top male and female athletes for the week of 9/28/12 to 10/4/12.  Everett's Aaron Campbell was the Co-Male Athlete of the Week with Aaron Brenton of CC's of Spokane and Everett's Katie Strong was the Female Athlete of the Week.  Campbell was nominated for his performance at the 8K Willamette Invite where he finished in 15th with a time of 25:18.83.  Strong was nominated also for her performance at the 5K Willamette Invitational. She placed 6th overall with a time of 18:06.35.
  • Soccer Coaches Polls released 10/3 - The NWAACC released the second NWAACC Coaches Poll of the 2012 Fall Season on October 3rd for Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer. The Men's Soccer Poll had 1st place Peninsula College with all of the first place votes. They are 11-1-0 on the season. Edmonds CC was the only Men's team from the Northern region that made it into the top 8, they were in the 7th spot. Skagit Valley's Men's Team did receive votes, but not enough to get them onto the list.  On the Women's Poll, Peninsula College also received all the first place votes.  They are 11-0-0 on the season. Everett's Women were still in the 8th spot, with Whatcom CC in the 6th from the North.  Shoreline CC received votes, but didn't make the list.   • Volleyball results from 10/3 - The Volleyball Team was in Lynnwood, WA to play a 3 out of 5 league match with the Tritons of Edmonds CC.  The first set was a nail biter with the score going to 26-24 in favor of Edmonds. The second and third set were won by Everett 25-18 & 25-16. The fourth set, the Tritons came back and won 25-21 sending the match to the fifth and deciding set. With a four point advantage, the Trojans won the fifth set to win the match 3 sets to 2. Rebecca Stella had 11 kills and 17 digs for the Trojans, while Lindsey Nealson had 8 kills and 8 digs for the Tritons. The Trojans are now 2-3 in league and 2-10 overall. The Tritons are 1-4 league and 3-10 overall.
  • Women's Soccer results from 10/3 - The Women's Soccer Team was in Kent, WA playing a league game with the Green River CC Gators. Going into the game, the Trojans were 3-1-1 in league and 3-3-2 overall, while the Gators were 0-5-0 in league and 2-6-1 overall. Christina Jarvis for the Trojans scored the first goal in the 17th minute of the game. She was assisted by Lisa Echert, who also assisted Riley Henderson on the second goal for the Trojans just four minutes later. At the 30 minute mark, the Trojans once again scored, this time by Jessica Johnson, who was assited by Aly Morgan. With this goal going into half time, the Trojans were ahead 3-0.  The start of the second half showed that it was going to be no different than the first. The Trojans Kassandra Blakely scored their fourth goal in the 66th minute and was assisted by Christina Jarvis.  In the 73rd minute, Katie Hungerford scored the Trojans fifth goal and their sixth goal in the 80th minute. Kassandra Blakely assisted on the fifth goal while Lauren Nolte assisted on the sixth one.The Trojans are now tied for first place with Whatcom CC in the Northern Region with a league record of 4-1-1 and have an overall record of 4-3-2.  The Gators are in last place with a 0-6-0 league record and a 2-7-1 overall record. 
  • 10/6 Soccer @ Southwestern Oregon - The Men's & Women's Soccer Teams will be traveling to Coos Bay, OR to play league games with the Lakers of Southwestern Oregon CC.  The Women's game starts the day off with a start time of 12:00pm.   • 10/5 Volleyball v Shoreline - Friday night, October 5th, The Trojan Volleyball Team will take on the Shoreline CC Dolphins at the EvCC Student Fitness Center starting at 7:00pm. This is a 3 out of 5 league match and first meeting between the two teams. Admission is $5.00 per person, except for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID - they are free.
  • Cross Country results from 9/29 - On Saturday morning, the Trojan Cross Country Teams were in Salem, OR to participate in the 2012 Charles Bowels Invitational that was hosted by Willamette University. The Men's race was an 8K race and had Everett tying for 5th place overall with Eastern Oregon University with 146 points. The Men's Team was the top CC team at the meet. In the Women's 5K race, Everett took 2nd place overall with a score of 83, while University of British Columbia took 1st place with a score of 64.  Everett's Aaron Campbell was the top Men's CC runner of the meet in 15th place with a time of 25:18.83 and Habtamu Rubio took 21st place with 25:28.84.  Everett's Katie Strong was the top Women's CC runner in 6th place with a time of 18:06.35, Catie Arrigoni was the 3rd CC runner in 17th place with a time of 18:40.83 and Marren Haneberg was the 4th CC runner in 19th place in 18:43.98.
  • Soccer results from 9/29 - The Storm from Chemeketa CC were in Everett to play the Trojans in league play on Saturday, September 29th. The Women started the day off beginning at 12:00pm. The Trojans got on the board with a goal by Riley Henderson at the 23 minute mark and she was assisted by Lisa Echert. At the 34 minute mark, Riley scored again to make it 2-0 going into half time. After half-time, both teams played hard, with Melea Helm of the Trojans scoring in the 55th minute to take the game to 3-0, the assist was from Aly Morgan. That is also how the game finished - Melissa Dreves recorded the shutout for Everett. The Trojans are now 3-1-1 in league and 3-3-2 overall. The Men's game started at 2:15pm. At the 13 minute mark, the Storm made the first move with a goal by Caleb Buzzas and the assist to Jose Macias.  The Trojans fought back and had many opportunites to score, but were unable to. The Storm also scored in the 64th minute, by Hassan Mursal who was assisted by Caleb Buzzas.  The Trojans are now 3-2-1 in league and 4-3-1 overall.
  • Volleyball results from 9/28 - The Volleyball Team was at Skagit Valley College in Mt. Vernon, WA to play a league match with the Cardinals. The 3 out of 5 match began at 7:00pm and went all 5 games.  The Cardinals won the first set 25-15 and the third set 25-15, with the Trojans winning the second 25-16. The fourth set was a close one with the Trojans winning 25-21 to send it to the fifth and deciding set. The fifth game is played to 15 and a team must win by at least 2 points. This was also a pretty close set, with the Trojans able to get the win 15-11. This gives the Trojans their first win of the season, giving them a 1-3 league record and 1-10 overall record. Rebecca Stella had 10 kills and 13 digs, while Annie Ogle had 15 assists for the Trojans.
  • 10/3 Volleyball @ Edmonds - The Volleyball Team will be traveling to Lynnwood, WA to play a 3 out of 5 league match with Edmonds CC. The game will begin at 7:00pm and be played on Edmonds CC Campus. As of 10/3 - both teams are 1-3 in league with Edmonds having a 3-9 overall record to Everett's 1-10.   • 10/3 Women's Soccer @ Green River - The Women's Soccer Team will be in Auburn, WA to play a league game against the Gators of Green River CC. The game will start at 2:00pm and be played at the Wilson Playfield Complex located at 13028 SE 251st Street in Kent, WA. As of 10/3 - the Trojans are 3-1-1 in league and 3-3-2 overall while the Gators are 0-5-0 in league and 2-6-1 overall.
  • Volleyball results 9/26 - The Rangers of Olympic College traveled to Everett to play a 3 out of 5 league match with the Trojans on Sept. 26th. The  match started at 7:00pm and was a back and forth match in the first and third set. Unfortunately, the Trojans weren't able to get past the Norhtern Regions first place Rangers, falling in three sets. Scores were 19-25; 16-25; 21-25. This takes the Trojans to 0-3 in league and 0-10 overall. The Rangers are 3-0 in league and 15-5 overall. Vanessa Van Eyk had 11 kills and Hailey Cross had 22 assists for Everett. Monica Phinney had 7 kills, Ivy Eakes 6 kills & 3 blocks, and Jaclyn Jordan had 26 assists & 3 blocks for the Rangers.
  • 9/29 - Soccer hosts Chemeketa - Starting with the Women's game at 12:00pm, the Trojans will be hosting the Chemeketa CC Storm on Saturday, Sept 29th.   • 9/29 - Baseball @ Lower Columbia College - Saturday, September 29th, eight Trojan Sophomore Baseball Players will be at Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA to participate in the 2012-13 Baseball Sophomore All-Star Showcase. The day begins with the East vs South game at 8:45am and the North vs West game at 4:15pm will be the final event of the day. Each game will be 12 innings. In between games there will be 60 times and agility testing, a lunch break and each team will have infield with catcher throw-downs before their respective game. Direction to LCC are under the directions link to the left.
  • 9/29 - Softball in Portland, OR - The 2012-13 Softball Team will be in Portland, OR to participate in the 2012 Fall Tournament and Sophomore All-Star Event. The games will be played at Delta Park in north Portland. Everett plays their first game at 11am versus Mt. Hood CC, plays South Puget Sound at 3pm and Walla Walla CC at 4:30pm.  The Sophomore Showcase will be at 1:00pm and will have the East vs the North and the West vs the South.   • Men's Soccer results from 9/22 - The Men's Soccer team played a league game against the Pierce College Raiders on Saturday, Sept 22. The Trojans scored first in the 13th minute by Fredy Lopez and assisted by Wondim Breen. The Raiders tied it up with a goal in the 20th minute by Mathew Solis on a penalty shot.  In the 60th minute, Jose Garibay scored on a penalty kick for the Trojans to go up 2-1. Fredy Lopez scored in the 70th minute with the assist once again going to Wondim Breen  to make it 3-1.  Josh Still for the Raiders scored in the 82nd minute to take it to 3-2 and that is how the game ended - Trojans Win! This takes the league record to 3-1-0 and overall record to 4-2-0. 
  • Women's Soccer results from 9/22 - The Women's Soccer team hosted North Idaho College on Saturday, 9/22 in a non-league game. Both teams played very well. NIC scored in the 20th minute, by Anna Valentine and the Trojans scored in the 87th minute, by Kassandra Blakely and was assisted by Lisa Echert. The game ended in a tie.  This takes the Trojans to 2-3-1 overall record.
  • Cross Country results from 9/22 - The 2012 Erik Anderson Invitational Cross Country Meet was held in Spokane, WA on Saturday September 22nd. Both Everett's Men and Women were in Spokane to participate. Both teams took 1st place amongst the Junior College teams - Women with a score of 21 and Men with a score of 26.  In the overall team results, Everett took 4th place on both sides. Men with a 107 score and Women with a 133 score. Top Runners for the Trojans were: for the Womenin the 5K - Katie Strong 13th place 18:44.58 (1st of all CC runners), Catie Arrigoni in 22nd place in 18:59.65 and Kristina Cordy in 23rd place with 19:01.99.  For the Men in the 8K - Habtamu Rubio took 15th in 25:57.04 (2nd of all CC runners), Aaron Campbell took 17th place in 26:01.78.
  • Volleyball results from 9/21 - Friday, 9/21, the Volleyball Team headed to Whatcom CC in Bellingham, WA to play the Orcas in a 3 out of 5 league match. The Trojans won the first set (their first set of the season) 25-23, however they lost the next three to the Orcas 21-25, 15-25, 22-25. Vanessa Van Eyk had 13 kills, Rebecca Stella had 11 kills & 12 digs, and Hailey Cross had 30 assists. This moves the league record to 0-2 and the overall record to 0-9.
  • 9/28 - Volleyball @ Skagit Valley - The Volleyball Team travels north to Mt. Vernon to play a league match against the Skagit Valley College Cardinals. The match is played on SVC campus and begins at 7pm. Directions to the game can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • Cross Country Athletes of the Week - Every week the Cross Country Coaches nominate and vote for the Athletes of the Week. In Week #2 - EvCC Sophomore Katie Strong was named the Women's Athlete of the Week and Sophomore Habtamu Rubio was named Men's Athlete of the Week.  Katie finished 5th at the Sun Dodger Invite with a time of 22:22.89. She also broke the EvCC school 6K record set by two-time NWAACC Cross Country Champion Shawna Schooley (22:32.12) on the same course by almost 10 seconds. Habtamu finished the Men's 8K race at the Sun Dodger Invite in a time of 25:10. Nominator commented - "Great first race for Habtamu starting where he left off last year."
  • 1st Coaches Polls released - September 19th, was the released date for the first NWAACC Coaches Polls for the fall seasons. Women's Soccer made it into the top eight spots - tying for 8th with Whatcom CC.  Neither the Men's Soccer nor the Volleyball Team were listed, however there is still time for them to make it onto the list!  Complete listing can be found under the Blog!
  • 9/26 - Volleyball hosts Olympic - The Olympic College Rangers will be in Everett Wednesday night to play a league match with the Trojans. Game begins at 7:00pm at the Student Fitness Center. Admission is FREE to current EvCC Students, Staff, & Faculty with current EvCC ID; for everyone else it is $5.00 per person 12+ years.

In the 3 out of 5 match, the Bulldogs of Bellevue College beat the Trojans in 3 with scores of 25-13; 25-10; 25-18. The Trojans are 0-1 league and 0-8 overall. Vanessa Van Eyk had 5 kills, Monesa Moore had 4 kills and Hailey Cross had 11 assists.
  • Soccer results from 9/19 - The Trojans hosted the Dolphins of Shoreline CC in league play on Wednesday 9/19. The Women's game began at 2:00pm.  In the Trojans first shut out of the season, Tia Carrillo scored in the 86th minute to win the game 1-0. Lisa Echert had the assist for the Trojans. The Women are now 2-1-0 in league and 2-3-0 overall. The Men's game started at 4:15pm. The Dolphins might have scored first and quickly (M. Gonzales in the 4th minute), however, the Trojans took over after.  Scoring in the 9th, 62nd, 68th, 79th and 83rd minutes to win the game 5-1.  Fredy Lopez scored in the 9th and 68th minutes, Mikias Brown scored in the 62nd minute, and Manny Aguirre-Granados in the 79th & 83rd minutes. Aguirre-Granados had the assist on the 62nd minute goal, Brown had the assist on the goal in the 68th minute and Jorge Avila had the assist on the last goal of the game. The Men are now 2-1-0 in league and 3-2-0 overall.

  • 9/21 Volleyball @ Whatcom - Friday, September 21st, the Volleyball Team will travel to Bellingham, WA to play the Whatcom CC Orcas in league play. Directions to WCC can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • Volleyball game rescheduled - The home game against Green River CC that was to take place on September 12th but had to be postponed has been rescheduled. The game will now be on Friday October 26th at 7:00pm at the Everett CC Student Fitness Center.
  • Cross Country results from 9/15 - The Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams were in Seattle on Saturday, 9/15 to participate in the Univeristy of Washington's Sun Dodger Invitational.  The Trojans did extremely well at the meet with the Men taking overall 3rd place and the Women taking overall 2nd place. The Men had 2 in the top 10 - Habtamu Rubio took 3rd with a time of 25:10.71 and Aaron Campbell took 9th with a time of 25:19.79; while the Women had 3 - Katie Strong took 5th with a time of 22:22.89, in 8th was Marren Haneberg with a time of 22:34.64 and with a time of 22:37.42 Catie Arrigoni took 9th.  Everett's Men and Women were the highest placed Community College team in the overall standings. With Habtamu and Katie being the top CC runners of the meet.
  • Volleyball results from X-over - Friday & Saturday, September 14th & 15th, the Volleyball team was in Auburn, WA participating in the Green River CC 2012 Crossover Tournament. On Friday, they faced the Road Runners of Linn-Benton CC, Highline CC Thunderbirds and the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College. These were 2 out of 3 matches. The Trojans lost to all three schools, with scores of 14-25, 13-25 to LBCC; 23-25, 19-25 to HCC; and 18-25, 19-25 to WVC. On Saturday morning, they faced the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College in a 2 out of 3 match. They lost 14-25 & 18-25. In bracket play on Saturday afternoon, they faced the Blue Mountain CC Timberwolves in a loser out match. All bracket play is 3 out of 5.  This only went 3 games and unfortunately sent the Trojans home from the tournament - 13-25, 14-25, 6-25. These games take the overall record to 0-7.
  • Soccer results from 9/15 - The Trojan Soccer Teams hosted the Penguins of Clark College on Saturday, September 15th. The Women's game started the day off with a start time of 12:00pm. The Trojans scored first in the 25th minute on a goal by Riley Henderson and assisted by Tia Carrillo. The Penguins scored at the 75th minute to tie it up. However, Riley Henderson once again scored for the Trojans in the 83rd minute for the Win, this time the assist was from Lisa Echert. This takes the Women to a 1-1-0 league record and a 1-3-0 overall record. The Men's game started at 2:15pm and Head Coach Willsie knew it was going to be a tough one for the Trojans. Clark was 4-1-1 overall coming into the game and are a powerhouse team. Clark scored quickly in the game by Eduardo Dominguez in the 6th, 12th an 36th minutes and then with Alicides Thomas in the 38th minute, Victor Garcia in the 59th minute and Sascha Pell in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, the Trojans were unable to score a goal against the Southern Regions' 1st place team. This takes the Trojan Men to a 1-1-0 league record and a 2-2-0 overall record.

  • 9/19 Soccer hosts Shoreline - Wednesday, September 19th, the Trojan Soccer Teams will host the Shoreline CC Dolphins.   • Game Postponed - 9/12 - The home Volleyball Match that was to take place on Wednesday, September 12 against the Gators of Green River CC has been postponed. As of yet the new date and time has not been determined. Keep checking for updates.
  • Volleyball results from 9/10 - The Volleyball team hosted the Yakima Valley CC Yaks in a non-league match last night. In the three out of five set, the Yaks won the first three sets to win the match, with scores of 25-21; 25-15; 29-27. This takes the overall record to 0-2.

  • 9/14 & 9/15 - Volleyball @ Green River X-over - The Volleyball team will travel to Auburn, WA to participate in the 2012 Green River CC Crossover Tournament. This is a two day event at GRCC. On the 14th, Everett plays Linn-Benton CC at 10am, Highline CC at 1pm, and Wenatchee Valley at 4:30pm. Game times for the 15th will be determined by how the teams do on the 14th.   • 9/12 - Volleyball plays Green River - The Volleyball team will host the Gators of Green River CC in a non-league match on Wednesday September 12th. Game will begin at 7:00pm. Admission is FREE for EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID otherwise it is $5.00 per person (12 yrs +).
  • Men's Soccer results from 9/8 - The Men's Soccer team was in Olympia, WA to play the Clippers of South Puget Sound CC in a non-league match. The Clippers scored once in the first half while the Trojans scored twice in the second to win the game 2-1. Goals for Everett were from Grayson Knott & Jiovanni Arellano, with the assist to Omar Machias.  This win takes the Trojans to a 2-1-0 overall record.
  • Women's Soccer results from 9/8 - In Eugene, OR, the Trojans were playing the Lane CC Titans in league play. It was a tight game from beginning to end however, with a score of 1-0, the only goal scored was from Lane. This takes the Trojans to a 0-3-0 overall record and a 0-1-0 league record.
  • 9/10 - Volleyball hosts Yakima Valley - The Yaks of Yakima Valley CC will be in Everett to play a non-league match with the Trojans on Monday September 10th. First serve is set for 6:00pm. Admission is $5.00 per person ages 12 and up or FREE if you are a EvCC student/staff/faculty with current EvCC ID.
  • Volleyball results from 9/6 - The Volleyball Team traveled to Yakima, WA to play their first regular season non-league match with the Yaks of Yakima Valley CC. The match went 3 sets with the Yaks coming out on top. Scores were 25-20; 25-15; 25-20. Highs for the Trojan were: Gabby Small with 10 assists; Rebecca Stella with 26 digs; Hailey Cross with 17 digs and Alyssa Walker with 16 digs. This takes the Trojans to a 0-1 overall record.   
  • 9/8 - Men's Soccer - The Men's Soccer Team will travel to Olympia, WA to play the Clippers of South Puget Sound CC with a start time of 2:00pm. The game will be played at Thurston County Regional Athletic Complex (TCRAC)  - located at 8341 Steilacoom Rd SE, Olympia , WA 98513. 
  • 9/8 - Women's Soccer - The Women's Soccer Team will travel to Eugene, OR to play a league game with the Titans of Lane CC. The game is set to start at 12:00pm and will be played on Lane CC's campus. For directions to the game, please check out the directions link to the left.
  • Cross Country Results 9/1 - Saturday evening the Trojans hosted the EvCC Invite at Arlington Airport Trails. In the Women's 3 mile race, Catie Arrigoni took 1st place with a time of 19:04.2 with Danielle Friend taking 4th place with a time of 21:08.7. In the Men's 4 mile race, Habtamu Rubio took 1st with a time of 21:51. 9, Nate Starr was 2nd with 22:02.5; Max Antush took 3rd with 22:06.9; Nic Lawrence was 4th with 22:41.0; 6th place was Zack Speiker with 22:56.2 and Abiel Tekle took 8th with 23:33.1.   
  • 9/6 - Volleyball @ Yakima Valley CC - Thursday, Septemeber 6th, the Women's Volleyball Team will travel to Yakima, WA to play the Yaks of Yakima Valley CC in non-league play. The game is set to start at 6pm. Directions to YVCC can be found under the directions link to the left. This will be the first official game for the 2012 season for Everett.
  • 8/29 Soccer Result - On second and final day of the 2012 NWAACC Friendlies Tournament, the Trojan Men's Soccer Team played a tough 90 minutes against the Rangers of Olympic College. It was a shut out for the Trojans as they won 1-0. Fredy Lopez scored for the Trojans. This takes there overall record to 1-1-0.  The Women's Team faced the Pirates of Peninsula College. The Trojans scored, but the Pirates outscored them 3-1. Goal for Everett was by Tia Carrillo and assisted by Lisa Echert. This takes the Women to a 0-2-0 overall record.
  • Cross Country Hosts EvCC Invite - 9/1 - Saturday, September 1st, the Trojan Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams will host the 2012 EvCC Invite. This meet will take place in Arlington at the Arlington Airport Trails and begin at 6:00pm.   • 8/28 Soccer Results - The Men's Soccer team met up with CBC in their first game at the 2012 Friendlies Tournament at 12:30pm yesterday. Unfortunately, the Trojans weren't able to score on the Hawks and weren't able to stop them either. Final score - EvCC 0 - CBC 5.  The Women's team played Walla Walla CC in their first game at 6:30pm last night. It had to be a well played game as the score was 1-0, however, the Warriors were the team that scored. This takes both Trojan teams to 0-1-0 in their season play.
  • 8/28 & 8/29 - Men's & Women's Soccer @ 2012 NWAACC Friendlies Tournament - Tuesday and Wednesday the Trojan Soccer Teams will travel down to Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA to participate in the NWAACC 2012 Friendlies Tournament. On Tuesday, the Men will face Columbia Basin College at 12:30pm and the Women will face Walla Walla CC at 6:30pm. On Wednesday, the Men will face Olympic College at 12:30pm while the Women face Peninsula College at 2:30pm. These games are all non-league games.   • 8/27 - Volleyball @ Yakima Valley CC - The 2012 Women's Volleyball Team travels to Yakima, WA to participate in the YVCC annual scrimmages. This will give each team there a chance to get some competition before the regular season starts to see what they need to work on. No scores will be kept.
  • 2012 Fall Sports - The starting dates for the upcoming fall 2012 sports teams are almost upon us! Men's & Women's Soccer start on Monday August 13th. Men's & Women's Cross Country starts August 15th. Women's Volleyball starts Friday August 17th. Also starting soon will be Fall Ball for Baseball and Softball Teams. They begin September 15th. If interested in participating in any of the teams, please contact that teams' coach or Athletic Director - Larry Walker.
  • Coach Koenigs qualifies for worlds - July 31 - In Tuesday's edition of the Herald newspaper, there is an article on Trojan Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Matt Koenigs. Saturday, July 28th at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island, Matt took second place in the National Aquathlon Championship and first place in the 30-34 age group. With this finish, his first aquathlon, he qualified to compete on the US Team at the Worlds Aquathlon Championships in New Zealand in October.   • Interested in Volleyball?? - If you are interested in trying out for the Women's Volleyball 2012 Team, they will be having a couple of open gyms that you can come to. This will give you an opportunity to talk to the coach and have your skills seen.

  • Congratulations - May 6 - Last night at the 2012 Hall of Fame Banquet that was held in the EvCC Gym, the Male & Female Athletes of the 2011-12 Year were announced. Trojan Athletics is proud to announce that Alex Shaffer was named Male Athlete and Mindy James was named Female Athlete. Alex is sophomore from Nathan Hale High School that pitched on the baseball team. He was named to the 2012 1st team for the Northern Region and also to the 2012 All-NWAACC team.  Mindy is a freshman from Mountlake Terrace High School. She played a starting guard on the basketball team and was starting shortstop on the softball team.
