  • Final 2012-13 Basketball League results v Edmonds 2/23 - In the final league basketball games of the 2012-13 seasons, the Trojans hosted the Tritons of Edmonds CC on Saturday, February 23rd. The Women started off the afternoon and from the beginning tip off, the Trojans showed their dominance. There were no lead changes nor ties in this game. The score at half time had the Trojans leading 47-25. The second half wasn't much better for the Tritons as they only scored 31 while the Trojans scored 53, to win the game 100-56. For the game, the Trojans shot 46.7% (35/75) from the field, 37.5% (13/32) 3 point range and 69.2% (18/26) free throw; the Tritons shot 41.1% (23/56) from the field, 30% (3/10) 3 point range and 70% (7/10) free throw. Everett Women finish 7-7 in league (5th place) and 13-13 overall and Edmonds Women finish 3-11 in league (tied 6th) and 7-18 overall. Game Highs: Everett - Erin Feeney 36 points & 4 steals; Kierra Wilkins 15 points & 9 rebounds; Kaiti Ferro 12 points; Mindy James 8 points, 11 assists and 4 steals; Ashley Albertson 7 points & 16 rebounds. Edmonds - Jessica Boyle 15 points; Kayla Wilson 6 rebounds; Sadie Bynum 5 rebounds & 4 assists. The Men's game followed and in that game Edmonds men showed why they are the #1 team in the Northern Region. They commanded the lead early on and never let it go. At half time Edmonds led 46-35 and in the second half, both teams scored 43, yet Edmonds got the win 89-78. The Trojans shot 34.6% (28/81) from the field, 28.9% (11/38) 3 point range and 64.7% (11/17) free throws; Edmonds shot 47.6% (30/63) from the field, 34.8% (8/23) 3 point range and 80.8% (21/26) free throw. Everett Men finish league tied for 3rd place with an 8-6 record and overall record of 15-11 and Edmonds Men finish in 1st place with a 13-1 league record and 23-3 overall.   • CONGRATULATIONS!!! - Congratulations go out to the 2012-2013 EvCC Trojan Men's Basketball Team on qualifying for the 2013 NWAACC Championship Tournament. They will travel to Kennewick, WA for the tournament March 2nd - 5th at the Toyota Center.   • Trojans split with Orcas @ Whatcom 2/20 - The Trojans were at Whatcom CC in Bellingham, WA to play the Orcas in league games on Wednesday February 16th. To start the night off was the Women's game at 4pm. While the Trojan Ladies gave it a great effort, they just weren't able to get it done to get the "W". Whatcom dominated basically the whole game, however the Trojans made it a game all the way to the final buzzer. Score at the half was 44-37 in favor of Whatcom. At the end of the game, Whatcom had scored 83 to Everett's 75. Whatcom shot for the game from the field 32/65 - 49.2%; 3 point range 10/23 - 43.5%; and free throws 9/16 - 56.3%. Everett shot from the field 25/63 - 39.7%; 3 point range 7/22 - 31.8%; free throws 18/27 - 66.7%. Everett is now 6-7 in league (5th place) and 12-13 overall and Whatcom is 10-3 in league (tied for 2nd) and 17-8 overall. Game Highs: Everett - Erin Feeney 25 points; Ashley Albertson 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals; Alyssa Brazel 11 points; Kierra Wilkins 8 points & 8 rebounds. Whatcom - Bree Park 29 points, 6 assists, 8 rebounds, 4 steals; Cambie Edwards 27 points & 16 rebounds; Erika Locker 12 points; Amanda Tapia 8 assists.The Men's game followed at 6pm and in that game there were 12 lead changes and 5 ties. It was close from the beginning until the end. At the end, the Trojans Zach Cooper hit a 2 cruial free throws with about 12 seconds left in the game to put the Trojans up by 5. Whatcom's Alex Duncan hit a 3 with about a second left to make it a 2 point game and when the clock ran out, the Trojans won 83-81. The score at the half was 49 Everett and 38 Whatcom. This win secured Everett participating in the 2013 NWAACC Championship Tournament! The Trojans are 8-5 in league (3rd) and 15-10 overall and Whatcom is 10-3 in league (2nd) and 18-7 overall. Everett shot from the field for the game 49.2% - 32/65; 3 point range 41.7% - 10/24; and free throws 37.5% - 9/24. Whatcom shot for the game from the field 40% - 30/75; 3 point range 27.6% - 8/29; free throws 59.1% - 13/22.   • 2/23 Last Regular Season Games @ Home v Edmonds - The final league games of the 2012-13 season are this upcoming Saturday - Feb. 23rd at HOME vs Edmonds CC in the EvCC Student Fitness Center. Women start at 4pm and the Men at 6pm.   • Basketball splits with Skagit Valley 2/16 - The Trojans hosted the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Saturday February 16th. The league games began with the Women at 4pm with the Men following at 6pm. In the Women's game, the Cardinals showed why they are tied for 1st in the Northern Region. They took a commanding lead in the first half scoring 38 to the Trojans 23, and they didn't let up in the second half scoring 39 to Everett's 30 to win the game 77-53. The Trojan Women shot 31.7% (19/60) from the field, 27.6% (8/29) 3 point range and 43.8% (7/16) free throw. The Cardinal Women shot 35.5% (22/62) from the field, 44% (11/25) 3 point range and 68.8% (22/32) free throw. Skagit Valley is now 10-2 in league (tied 1st with Bellevue) and 18-7 overall and Everett is 6-6 in league (5th) and 12-12 overall. Game Highs: Everett - Erin Feeney 17 points; Alyssa Brazel 9 points & 5 steals; Mindy James 8 points & 4 assists; Christian Rogers 5 rebounds; Kierra Wilkins 5 rebounds & 4 blocked shots. Skagit - Laken McClelland 28 points & 9 rebounds; Sophia Baetz 20 points & 7 rebounds; Christina Nash 5 points & 6 assists. The Men's game was exciting to watch as there were 8 ties and 13 lead changes. The score at half time was 41-35 with Everett leading. In the second half, both teams scored 46 points, and that gave Everett the "W" 87-81. TEverett Men shot 42% (29/69) from the field, 29.6% (8/27) 3 point range and 80.8% (21/26) free throws for the game while Skagit Valley Men shot 40.5% (30/74) from the field, 21.7% (5/23) 3 point range and 72.7% (16/22) free throws. Game Highs: Everett - Connor Donaldson 20 points; Flynn Mattson 19 points, , 8 rebounds, & 4 assists; David Ware 13 points, 6 rebounds, & 6 assists; RJ Magar 13 points; Rashad Jones 6 points & 6 rebounds.   • THANK YOU - EvCC Athletics would like to thank everyone that brought a pair of used athletic shoes to donate to Playing 4 Kickz on Saturday Feb. 16th. The shoes will be given to kids & adults around the world that are in need of athletic shoes. Trojan Athletics is proud to help out by collecting shoes for this worthy cause.
  • 2/20 EvCC Basketball @ Whatcom CC - The Basketball Teams travel to Whatcom CC in Bellingham, WA to play league games with the Orcas. The Women will start at 5pm and the Men will start at 7pm. Directions to WCC can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • Peninsula beats Everett 2/13 - The Trojan Basketball Teams both lost league games against the Pirates of Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA on Wed. 2/13. In the Women's game, both teams wanted and needed this win as they were tied for 4th place in the Northern Region before the game. The beginning of the game was close, as there were 4 lead changes and 3 ties. The score at half time there was a 7 point difference with Peninsula ahead 39-32. In the second half, it was once again close at the beginning, however then the Pirates kept increasing their lead and went onto win the game 87-73. The Trojans now have a 6-5 league record and are in 5th place and the Pirates have a 7-4 league record and are in 4th place. Everett shot from the field for the game 32.1%, 11.1% 3-point range and 76% free throw. Peninsula shot for the game from the field 53.3%, 15.4% 3-point range and 100% free throw. Game highs: Everett W - Erin Feeney 30 points, 5 assists, 89 rebounds, 4 steals; Alyssa Brazel 13 points & 4 steals; Kierra Wilkins 12 points; Mindy James 7 assists. Peninsula W - Taylor Larson 41 points & 12 rebounds; Jasmine Yarde 14 points & 6 steals; Abigail Jones 10 points & 9 rebounds; Karli Brakes 15 assists. The Men's game was very exciting as both teams want to be in the top 4 and before the game Everett had sole possession of 3rd and Peninsula was tied for 4th. There were 11 lead changes and 10 ties and the largest lead was in the first half and it was 15 points. At half time, the Trojans were ahead by 10, 49-39. In the second half, the Pirates came out hot and scored 56 to Everett's 46 to make it a tie game at the end of regulation and to send it into over time with the score 95-95. Overtime was 5 minutes and again it was back and forth. Unfortunately for the Trojans they weren't able to get the W, losing 105-108. This now makes both teams to have a 6-5 record and are now tied for 3rd place. Game Highs: Everett M - Connor Donaldson 28 points & 15 rebounds; RJ Magar 27 points; Flynn Mattson 13 points & 8 rebounds; David Ware & Zach Cooper each with 8 points & 11 assists.   • NWAACC 2/13/13 Coaches Polls - The Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges released the most current Basketball Coaches Polls on Wed. 2/13. For the first time both the Men's & Women's previous 1st place teams have been replaced. The Women's Lane CC has been moved to the #2 spot and replaced by Clackamas CC. The Men's Edmonds CC moved to the #3 spot and was replaced by the new #1 Big Bend CC and new #2 Pierce College. Neither EvCC team made the top 8 nor did they receive any votes.   • 2/16 Everett hosts Skagit Valley College - The Cardinals of Skagit Valley College will be in the Student Fitness Center to play the Trojans in league basketball games on Saturday 2/16/13. The Women start at 4:00pm and the Men follow at 6:00pm. Admission to the games are $5.00 per person 12 years old and up - except for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID - they are Free. Also on Saturday the 16th, EvCC Trojan Athletics will be collecting used athletic shoes (any/every size, brand, type) for Playing 4 Kickz, an organization co-founded by Men's Basketball Alumni Nate Holthenrichs. Playing 4 Kickz collects used athletic shoes and then donates them to adults & children around the world. This March, they will travel to the Philippines to build sport courts, hold camps and pass out donated shoes. Pass the word and bring in your old shoes, your kids old shoes, any old athletic shoes that are collecting dust an taking up space in your house/garage/apartment/closet an donate them to needy kids an adults!
  • 2/13 Basketball travels to Peninsula - The Trojan Men's & Women's Basketball Teams will travel to Port Angeles, WA on Wednesday February 13th to play league games with the Peninsula College Pirates. The Women will start at 5:00pm and the Men will start at 7:00pm. Directions to the game can be found under the directions link to the left.
  • Everett splits with Bellevue 2/9 - The Everett Trojans were in Bellevue on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9th, to play league basketball games with the Bulldogs of Bellevue College. The Women began at 4pm and in the first half it was a back & forth game - with 7 ties and 7 lead changes. The score at half time was Everett 28 and Bellevue 30. Not sure what happened during half time, however in the second half, the Bulldogs came out to get that "W", scoring 53 points to the Trojans 32 - to win the game 83-60. Everett for the game shot 33.8% from the field, 30.4% 3-point range and 42.9% free throw while Bellevue shot 48.5% from the field, 7.69% 3-point range, and 75% free throw. The Trojans are now 6-4 in league (tied 4th) and 12-10 overall and Bellevue is 8-2 in league (tied 1st) and 15-8 overall. The Men's game began at 6pm and in this game there were only 2 ties and 2 lead changes, which means that while the game might have been close at times, the game was all Everett! At half time the score was 46-33 in favor of Everett and in the second half Everett scored 49 to Bellevue's 47 - for Everett to win 95-80. For the game, Bellevue shot 47.3% from the field, 32% 3-point range and 69% free throw and Everett shot 49.3% from the field, 45.5% 3-point range and 86.7% free throw. Everett is now 6-4 in league (3rd place) and 13-9 overall and Bellevue is 5-5 in league (tied 4th) and 13-9 overall.   • 2/16 Playing 4 Kickz - At the EvCC home basketball games on Saturday Feb. 16th, against Skagit Valley College, Playing 4 Kickz (playingforkickz.org) will be collecting used shoes that they will distribute around the world. "Your donation of athletic shoes is important to children and adults around the world. A pair of the right shoes not only protects their feet, it allows them to participate in sports, get active and pursue their dreams to play professionally. What means so little to us could mean the world to them. Give a shoe. Lend a hand. You can make a difference." Used athletic shoes are collected and then distributed to kids and adults around the world. So, come to the game and bring a pair or two of your old athletic shoes that are just takin up space in your closet!
  • Basketball sweeps Olympic College 2/6 - The Rangers of Olympic College were at the EvCC Student Fitness Center on Wednesday night to play the Trojans for the second time this season. And once again, the Trojans sweep the Rangers. In the Women's game, the Trojans scored 42 points in the first half while the Rangers only scored 8. In the second half, the Rangers did a little better scoring 22, but the Trojans increased their lead by scoring 33, to win the game 75-30. Everett forced 26 Ranger turnovers, and had 53 rebounds, 16 steals, 22 assists and 7 blocked shots. For the game Everett shot 39.2% (31/79) from the field, 20% (5/25) 3-point range and 88.9% (8/9) free throws. Olympic shot for the game 17.7% (11/62) from the field, 23.5% (4/17) 3-point range and 57.1% (4/7) free throw. The Trojan Women are now 6-3 in league (tied 4th) and 12-9 overall and the Ranger Women are 0-9 in league (last) and 0-19 overall. Game Highs: Everett - Ashley Albertson 18 points, 19 rebounds, 8 assists & 7 steals; Ashley Orr 15 points; Alyssa Brazel 13 points & 6 assists; Mindy James 9 points. Olympic - Leahi Lindsey 13 points & 11 rebounds; Anjellica Amian 8 points. In the Men's game, it was close in the beginning - 3 ties and 3 lead changes, however that didn't last long as the Trojans became hot and stayed hot. Half time score was Everett 63 - Olympic 38. When the second half began, the Trojans started where they left off in the first half, scoring 44 to the Rangers 36 to win the game 107-74. The Trojans had 58 rebounds, 18 steals, 27 assists, 1 blocked shot and forced the Rangers to commit 28 turnovers. From the field the Trojans shot 40% (36/90); 3-point range 33.3% (16/48) and free throw 67.9% (19/28) and the Rangers shot from the field 42% (29/69); 3-point range 28.6% (4/14) and free throw 63.2% (12/19). Everett Men are now 5-4 in league (tied 3rd) and 12-9 overall and Olympic Men are 0-9 in league (last) and 1-17 overall. Game Highs: Everett Men - Connor Donaldson 23 points & 7 rebounds; Landy James 16 points & 6 rebounds; David Ware 9 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals & 6 assists; Zach Cooper 8 assists.   • 2/9 Everett Basketball travels to Bellevue College - Saturday February 9th, Everett Trojan Basketball will be in Bellevue, WA on the Campus of Bellevue College to play league games with the Bulldogs.   • 2/6 Basketball hosts Olympic College - On Wednesday Feb. 6th, the Olympic College Rangers will be at the EvCC Student Fitness Center for the second meeting between them and the Trojans in league play. The Women's game will begin at 5:00pm and the Men's game will begin at 7:00pm. Admission to the games is Free for current EvCC Students/Staff/Faculty with current EvCC ID; everyone else the price is $5.00 per person 12 years old and up.
  • Basketball splits with Shoreline 2/2 - The Trojan Basketball Teams were at Shoreline CC in Seattle, WA on Saturday Feb. 2nd afternoon to start the second half of the 2012-13 league season with games against the Dolphins. The Women started off at 2:00pm with the tip between Everett's Kierra Wilkins and Shoreline's Maile Keanu. At the end of the first half, the Trojan Women not only led with a score of 43-31, but also had better shooting percentages from the field and 3-point range. In the second half, the Trojans didn't let up, going on to win the game 83-72. The Trojans for the game shot 43.4% (33/76) from the field, 31.6% (6/19) 3-point range and from free throw 61.1% (11/18). The Dolphins shot 32.9% (27/82) from the field, 40% (8/20) 3-point range and from free throw 66.7% (10/15). Everett is now 5-3 in league (tied 4th) and 11-9 overall while Shoreline is 2-6 in league (6th) and 9-10 overall. The Men's tip off between Everett's Flynn Mattson and Shoreline's Adam Johnson was at 4:00pm. In the first 3 minutes of the game, the Trojans had a 17-0 run, however, they allowed the Dolphins to come back and at half time the Trojans had a 5 point lead - 49-44. In the second half, the game went back an forth with 7 lead changes and 3 ties, however, the Trojans let the Dolphins get ahead and let them stay there. Dolphins won 104-90. Dolphins shot for the game 41.9% (36/86) from the field, 46.2% (12/26)3-point range and from free throw 74.1% (20/27) with the Trojans shot 47.4% (36/76) from the field, 38.7% (12/31) 3-point range and from free throw 42.9% (6/14). Everett is 4-4 in league (5th) and 11-9 overall and Shoreline is 2-6 in league (tied 6th) and 4/14 overall. Game Highs: Everett Women - Erin Feeney 26 points; Alyssa Brazel 21 points & 6 assists; Kierra Wilkins 14 points & 9 rebounds; Ashley Albertson 13 rebounds & 4 steals.   • 2013 Spring Sports begin - The Spring Seasons for 2013 Men's Baseball, Women's Softball, Men's & Women's Track & Field have begun. All teams will have about a month of practice before their first games/events on March 2nd. Check out their respective pages for the 2013 schedule.
  • NWAACC Basketball Coaches Polls 1/30 - The most current NWAACC Coaches Polls for the 2012-13 Basketball Seasons was released on January 30th. There were quite a few changes on both polls. Lane CC on the Women's Poll while still in the first spot, for the first time did not receive all of the 1st place votes. Also on the Women's poll, Clackamas CC & Walla Walla CC switched spots (#2 & #3) and Centralia College stayed in the #4 spot, all other spots were different. On the Men's poll, Edmonds CC once again was in the #1 spot and once again received all of the 1st place votes. Edmonds CC was the only team to stay in the same spot on the Men's poll.   • 1/28 - Trojan Erin Feeney in Herald Story - Sophomore Women's Basketball Player Erin Feeney is the subject of a Heraldnet sports story that was published on Jan. 28th and written by Rich Myhre, Herald Writer. EvCC is very lucky to have Erin as part of Trojan Athletics, as she is not only a great basketball player, but also a great fastpitch softball player. 
  • 2/2 Start of 2nd half of season - Trojans @ Shoreline - The Trojans & Dolphins start the second half of the 2012-13 league season by games at Shoreline CC.   • Trojans split @ Edmonds CC 1/26 - Saturday, Jan. 26th was the final league games of the first half of the season and the Trojans were in Lynnwood, WA, at Edmonds CC to play the Tritons. The Women's game began at 5:00pm and the Men began at 7:00pm. In the Women's game, the Trojans showed their dominance over the Tritons from the beginning of the game to the end. Their largest lead was 41 points in the second half. At half time, the Trojans had scored 38 to the Tritons 21. In the second half, the Trojans didn't let up, scoring 47 points to the Tritons 29 to win 85-50. The Tritons had 30 turnovers, 45 rebounds, 10 assists, 14 steals, and 3 blocked shots, while the Trojans only had 18 turnovers, 6 blocked shots, 24 assists, 38 rebounds, and 22 steals. Everett had shot 43.7% (31/71) from the field, 32% (8/25) 3-pointers and 78.9% (15/19) free throw. Edmonds shot 28.4% (19/67) from the field, 22.2% (2/9) 3-point range, 66.7% (10/15) free throw. Everett is now 4-3 in league (5th in N. region) and 10-9 overall with Edmonds is 1-6 in league (7th) and 5-13 overall. The Men's game started at 7pm and was a back an forth yet fast paced game. In the first half, the shooting percentages were about even between the two teams. The score at the half had Edmonds ahead by 5 points - 40-35. The second half had the Tritons showing why they are the #1 team in the North and the #1 team on the NWAACC Coaches Polls. The score at the end of the game was 93-75 - Edmonds. For the game, Everett had 35 rebounds, 21 assists, 23 turnovers, 6 blocked shots & 15 steals with Edmonds having 39 rebounds, 22 assists, 22 turnovers, and 11 steals. Everett shot 41.4% (29/70) from the field, 24.1% (7/29) 3-point range and 83.3% (10/12) free throw and Edmonds shot 55.2% (37/67) from the field, 38.9% (7/18) 3-point range and 80% (12/15) free throw. Edmonds is 7-0 in league (1st in N. region) and 17-2 overall and Everett is 4-3 in league (tied 4th in N. region) and 11-8 overall.   • Everett Basketball loses to Whatcom 1/23 - It was a sad night on Wednesday, January 23rd, in the EvCC Student Fitness Center, as both Trojan Basketball Teams lost to the Orcas of Whatcom CC. The Women's game with the 5pm tip off between Trojan Kierra Wilkins & Orca Nathalie Gruber. Wilkins won the tip and off they went. There were 4 lead changes and 2 ties and the largest lead had Whatcom ahead by 19 points early on in the game. At half time the score was 34-26 with Whatcom ahead. The Trojans fought back in the second half to out score the Orcas 34-30, but they still lost 60-64. Everett from the field shot 38.1% (24/63), 24.1% (7/29) 3-point range and 71.4% (5/7) free throw. Whatcom from the field was 42.9% (24/56), 38.5% (5/13) 3-point range and 91.7% (11/12) free throws. In the Men's game that started at 7pm between Everett's Flynn Mattson and Whatcom's Eric Fongue, the game was close the whole time as there were 9 lead changes and 14 ties. The largest lead was 12 points and that took place in the second half. It was a two point ball game going into half time with the Orcas leading 36-34. When the second half started, both teams fought hard to get the "W". At the end of the second half, the Orcas had a three point lead to get the win 78-75. Trojans had shot 38.4% (28/73) from the field, 31.8% (7/22) 3-point range and 80% (12/15) free throws and the Orcas shot 42.3% (30/71) from the field, 13.3% (2/15) 3-point range and 80% (16/20) free throw.   • Basketball results @ Skagit Valley 1/19 - Saturday, January 19th, the Trojans were in Mt. Vernon, WA on the campus of Skagit Valley College to play league games with the Cardinals. The Women began at 5pm and at the beginning, the Trojans were dominating the game, however that changed not long after and the Cardinals came alive. At half time, Skagit had the lead 43-37. Once second half started, the Cardinals came out on fire and the Trojans weren't able to put that fire out. Skagit went onto win the game 83-63. The Trojans had shot 41.8% (23/55) from the field, 40% (8/20) 3-point range, and 56.3% (9/16) free throws, while the Cardinals shot 42.6% (29/68) from the field, 26.3% (5/19) 3-point range, and 87% (20/23) free throws. After half time, the Trojans had a quick 7-0 run to have the largest lead of the game at 21 points. Unfortunately, the Trojans let the Cardinals come back, however, the closest they got was within 7 points late in the game. Everett won the game 91-75.   • NWAACC Basketball Coaches Polls - 1/17 - The Northwest Athletic Association of Community College released the fourth Basketball Coaches Polls of the 2012-13 season on January 17th. The Women's Poll only had two changes from the previous poll (#7 Whatcom was #8 and CC's of Spokane not previously ranked). Lane CC once again swept all of the first place votes to take the #1 spot for the fourth consecutive poll. One Northern Region Team was voted onto the poll - Whatcom CC #7 and one received votes - Bellevue College. On the Men's Poll, there were only three teams that didn't move. Edmonds CC (previously tied #2) moved to the #1 spot and received all of the first place votes, Lane CC (previously #1) moved down to the #3 spot. There were two teams from the Northern Region were voted onto the poll -Edmonds CC #1 & Peninsula College #2 and three teams received votes - EVERETT CC, Bellevue College & Whatcom CC.

  • Result of EvCC Basketball vs Peninsula 1/16 - On the night of Jan. 16th, the Pirates of Peninsula College were at the EvCC Student Fitness Center to play league games with the Trojans. The Women's games started the night off at 5:00pm with the tip off between Everett's Kierra Wilkins and Peninsula's Abigail Jones. Wilkins won the tip and teammate Ashley Albertson scored the first points of the game for Everett. There were 6 lead changes and 5 ties throughout the game and the largest lead was 13 points (in the second half). At the end of the first half, the Pirates were ahead by 4 points, 44-40. At half time, Everett had shot 44.1% from the field, 28.6% 3-point range and 100% free throw; Peninsula had shot 52.5% from the field, and 33.3% 3-point range. After half time, the Trojans shot better than the Pirates and outscored them 39-27 to win the game by 8, 79-71. For the game, Everett shot from the field 28/59 (47.5%), 4/15 (26.7%) 3-point range and 19/23 (82.6%) free throws and Peninsula shot from the field 34/76 (44.7%), 2/12 (16.7%) 3-point range and 1/8 (12.5%) free throw. This win takes the Trojans to 3-1 in league and 9-7 overall and the Pirates to 2-2 in league and 7-7 overall. Up next was the Men's game with the tip off between Everett's Flynn Mattson and Peninsula's Salim Gloyd at 7:00pm. In the first 30 seconds of the game, Mattson won the tip, Everett's David Ware turned the ball over and Peninsula's Xavier Bazile got the steal an 3 point attempt, teammate TreShawn Dunbar got the offensive rebound then turned it over to Ware who passed it to teammate Zach Cooper who made a 3 pointer. That was how the whole game went - back and forth. There were 17 lead changes, 9 ties and the largest lead was 13 points in the second half. Going into half time the score was 47-45 with Everett in the lead. For the half, Peninsula was 40% from the field, 31.3% 3-point range and 66.7% free throw and Everett was 41.9% from the field, 43.5% 3-point range and 50% free throw. Second half was just like the first - intense and back and forth, and the intensity wasn't just on the court - Trojan fans were really into the game and cheering on their team. At the end of the second half, Peninsula had scored 39 points to Everett's 37 to have a tie game 84-84. Overtime is 5 minutes long and began a minute or two after regulation time ended. It started with a jump ball once again between Everett's Mattson and Peninsula's Gloyd, and once again Mattson won the tip. The overtime had just as much intensity as the rest of the game. Unfortunately at the end of the 5 minutes, Everett had scored 12 points while Peninsula had scored 17 to win the game 101-96. For the game, Peninsula shot 36/85 (42.4%) from the field, 9/25 (36%) 3-point range and 20/34 (58.8%) free throws while Everett had shot 31/88 (35.2%) from the field, 15/43 (34.9%) 3-point range, and 19/25 (76%) free throw.   • Results for Basketball vs Bellevue 1/12 - The Trojans Basketball Teams hosted the Bulldogs of Bellevue College on Saturday, Jan 12th for league games. The Women's game began at 4:00pm in the Student Fitness Center. Both teams were 2-0 in league going into this game. The game itself was pretty close from the get go. There were 9 lead changes and 6 ties throughout the game. In the first half, Everett shot 40% and Bellevue shot 40.6% from the field. Score going into halftime was 35-31 - Bellevue. From 3-point range, Everett was 50% and Bellevue was 37.5% and from free throw Bellevue was 54.5% an Everett was 100%. In the second half, again it was still pretty close. The largest lead was only 12 points. At the end of the game, Bellevue scored 31 in the second half to Everett's 27 to win the game 66-59. From the field, Everett shot 21/58 (36.2%), from 3-point range 6/16 (37.5%) and free throws 11/14 (78.6%). Bellevue shot 24/59 (40.7%) from the field, 3/11 (27.3%) from 3-point range and 15/24 (62.5%) from free throw. Bellevue is now 3-0 in league and 10-6 overall and Everett is 2-1 in league and 8-7 overall. In the Men's game, the largest lead was in the beginning of the game of 9 points when the score was 15-6. That tells you that the game was close from the tip-off. Bellevue had a 4 point lead at half time 40-36. After the first half, Everett was 35.5% from the field, 18.2% 3-point range and 63.2% free throws, and Bellevue was 51.9% from the field, 55.6% 3-point range, and 46.7% free throw. Halftime in the Trojans' locker room must have been intense and inspiring because the Trojans came out and scored 60 points and held the Bulldogs to only 49. Everett won the game 96-89.   • Basketball results from Olympic 1/9 - Trojan Basketball traveled to Bremerton, WA to play the Rangers of Olympic College in the second league game of the 2012-13 season. The Women's game began at 5:00pm and very quickly, Everett showed their dominance. The Trojans scored 48 points to the Rangers 16 points in the first half. At the half, Everett had shot 46.2% from the field, 43.8% 3-point range and 71.4% free throw, while Olympic shot 23.1% from field, 14.3% 3-point range and 42.9% free throw. In the second half, not much changed - Everett scored 49 and the Rangers scored 17, so Everett wins 97-33.   • Results for Basketball v Shoreline 1/5 - Shoreline CC Men's & Women's Basketball Teams were in Everett on the afternoon of Saturday Jan 5th to play league games with Everett CC. This was the first league games of the 2012-13 season for both schools and the first meetings between them. The Women started the afternoon off with tip off at 4pm between Everett's Kierra Wilkins and Shoreline's Emily Wilbur. In a huge display of dominance, the Trojan Women showed they were ready for the league season. In the first half, Everett scored 50 points to Shoreline's 12. The Trojans shot 52.8% from the field, 50% 3-point range and 62.5% free throw. Dolphins shot 11.1% from the field and 50% free throws. During the second half, Shoreline started making their shots and scored 36 points, however, Everett still played their game and scored 43 points to get the win 93-48. Everett shot 51.5% (34/66) from the field, 50% (13/26) 3-point range and 70.6% (12/17) free throw; Shoreline shot 26.4% (19/72) from the field, 12.5% (2/16) 3-point range and 47.1% (8/17) free throw. Everett is now 1-0 in league and 7-6 overall while Shoreline is 0-1 in league and 6-5 overall. The Men's game started at 6pm with the tip off between Everett's Flynn Mattson and Shoreline's Nahshon George. The game was a fast paced match up from the tip off as you can tell by the score of the first half which had the Dolphins leading 64-60. There were 15 lead changes and 8 ties and the largest point difference was 11 points when the score was Everett 48 Shoreline 59. In the first half, Shoreline shot 46.7% from the field, 21.7% 3-point range and 60% free throw and Everett shot 52.3% from the field, 52.9% 3-point range and 62.5% free throw. The second half was just as fast paced as the first with the scoring going back and forth and coming down to the final minutes of the game. Everyone watching thought the game might go into overtime, however, it didn't and Everett won 121-116. At the end of the game, Shoreline shot 43.8% (46/105) from the field, 26.3% (10/38) 3-point range, 70% (14/20) free throw and Everett shot 50% (44/88) from the field, 46.4% (13/28) 3-point range, and 71.4% (20/28) free throw.   • NWAACC Coaches Polls - Basketball - 1/3/13 - The NWAACC released the most current Coaches Polls for the 2012-13 Men's & Women's Basketball seasons. On the Women's Poll, Lane CC still held onto the top spot, receiving all 1st place votes (80 points out of 80 possible points). Walla Walla CC & Clackamas both held onto their 2nd & 3rd spots as well. The only Northern Region team in the top 8, was Whatcom CC in the 8th spot. Two North Teams did receive votes, just not enough to make the top 8. On the Men's Poll, Lane CC held onto the top spot, yet the other 7 teams didn't hold onto their spots. The North was very well represented with having four teams in the top 8 - Peninsula & Edmonds tied for #2, Whatcom in #6 and Bellevue in #7.

  • Men's Basketball @ ClCC Tournament results 12/28 & 12/29 - The Men's Basketball Team was in Oregon City, OR on 12/28-12/30 participating in the Clackamas CC Holiday Tournament. This was a 3 day, double elimination tournament. Their first game was against the host school - Clackamas CC at 7pm on Dec. 28th. The Trojans started off really slow in the first half, only scoring 29 points to the Cougars 45. Everett shot 31.6% from the field, 20% from 3-point range & 33.3% from free throw in the first half and Clackamas shot 41% from the field, 31.6% 3-point range, 58.3% from free throw. The second half was much better for the Trojans as they scored 54 points, however, with the Cougars first half score and second half score of 46, Clackamas won 91-83. What won the game for the Cougars was the fact that they were 33/48 from the free throw line, as opposed to the Trojans 14/21. Clackamas was 40.3% (25/62) from the field; 29.6% (8/27) 3-point range and 68.8% (33/48) from free throw; Everett was 35.7% (30/84) from the field; 25.7% (9/35) 3-point range and 66.7% (14/21) from free throw. In this game there were 7 lead changes and 12 ties. At half time, the score was 54-46 in favor of Walla Walla. EvCC shot 40% from the field, 37.5% 3-point range & 75% free throw; WWCC from the field shot 48.7%, 20% 3-point range and 75% free throw. The second half had the Trojans and Warriors each scoring 45 points, but with the lead the Warriors already had, they won the game 99-91. They move onto play on 12/30 with an overall record of 6-5, while the Trojans are sent home with an overall record of 7-5.   • Women's Basketball @ ChCC Tournament results 12/28 & 12/29 - The Women's Basketball Team participated in the 2012 Chemeketa CC Holiday Tournament in Salem, OR on 12/28-12/30. It was a 3 day event and double elimination style tournament. Their first game had them facing undefeated Lane CC at 1pm on 12/28. This was the second meeting between the Trojans an Titans, as they played in the Championship game at the 2012 EvCC Classic in mid-November. In the first half, Lane dominated - shooting 55% from the field, 50% 3-point range and 63.6% free throw, while Everett only shot 29.4% from the field, 26.3% 3-point range and 100% free throw. Score at the half was 59-31. The Trojans started the game with 6 people, however they finished with 5 after Alex Kenney went down with a knee injury in the second half. The score at half time was 32-29 in favor of Everett. The Trojans shot 33.3% from the field an 3-point range and 70% free throw, the Roadrunners shot 32.4% from the field, 40% 3-point range, and 75% from free throw. In the second half, Linn-Benton came alive and outscored Everett 57-45 to win the game 86-77. Linn-Benton moved on to play on 12/30 with an overall record of 3-8, while Everett was sent home with an overall record of 6-6.   • 12/28 - 12/30 Basketball @ Holiday Tournaments - During the winter break, both the Men's & Women's Basketball Teams will be participating in Holiday Tournaments. The Women will be in Salem, OR at Chemeketa CC while the Men will be in Oregon City, OR at Clackamas CC. The Women play at 1pm against Lane CC and the Men face Clackamas CC at 7pm on Dec. 28. Their opponents & times for Dec 29th & 30th, will be determined by play on the 28th. They must win on the 28th &/or the 29th to play on the 30th, as both tournaments are double elimination. If the Men win, they wll play at 7pm on the 29th against the winner of the Centalia College/Walla Walla CC game and if they lose they will play at 3pm vs the loser of that game. If the Women win they will play at 5pm vs the winner of the Linn-Benton CC/Columbia Basin College and if they lose they will play at 1pm vs the loser of that game.
  • Men's Basketball @ TCC results 12/20 - Everett CC's Men's Basketball Team played a non-league game at Tacoma CC on December 20, 2012. Game began at 7pm with the tip off between Everett's Connor Donaldson and Tacoma's Julian Vaughn. Vaughn got the opening tip and the first two points of the game for TCC, Connor Donaldson made the first two points for Everett about 11 seconds later. At the end of the first half, Tacoma had a 3 point lead 48-45. Everett had shot 47.5% (19/40) from the field; 35.7% (5/14) 3-point range; 66.7% (2/3) free throws, while Tacoma shot 57.6% (19/33) from the field; 44.4% (4/9) 3-point range; 66.7% (6/9) free throws. There were 6 lead changes and 7 ties in this game, and at the end of it, TCC got the win with a score of 89-77 over EvCC.   • NWAACC Basketball Coaches Polls 12/20 - On Thursday, Dec. 20th, the NWAACC released the current Men's & Women's Basketball Coaches Polls. Lane CC topped both polls, with the Women holding onto their top spot from the previous poll. On the Women's Poll, Skagit Valley was the only North team that made the top 8 in the tied for 5th, while Everett, Whatcom, Bellevue and Peninsula all recieved votes. On the Men's Poll, two teams from the North were in the top 8, Bellevue in 5th spot and Peninsula in the 7th. Everett Men were the only other North team to recieve votes.
  • 12/20 Men's Basketball @ Tacoma CC - Thursday night (12/20) at 7pm, the Trojan Men's Basketball Team will be in Tacoma, WA to play the Titans of Tacoma CC in a non-league game. This is the second meeting between the two teams, as Tacoma was in Everett on Dec. 1st. Everett won the first meeting with a score of 93-85.   • 2012 Crossover's - Congratulations to both the Men's Basketball Team and the Women's Basketball Team as they each took 3rd place at their respective 2012 NWAACC Crossover Tournament. The Men did it by beating Wenatchee Valley College on Friday, losing to host Green River CC on Saturday and beating #1 ranked Yakima Valley CC in Overtime on Sunday. The Women did it by beating Chemeketa CC on Friday, losing to Walla Walla CC on Saturday and beating host Highline CC on Sunday. Erin Feeney from the Women's team scored 73 points at the tournament, and David Ware for the Men was named to the Green River CC Crossover All-Tournament Team. Great job Trojans!
  • Women's Crossover Final Day results 12/16 - The Trojans final game of the 2012 Crossover Tournament took place at 2:00pm against the host school - Highline CC. The first half was close, with 5 lead changes and 6 ties. Score at half time was 37-26 Everett. The Thunderbirds shot 32.4% (12/37) from the floor, 0% (0/6) from the 3 point area and 100% (2/2) from the free throw line while the Trojans shot from the field 36.8% (14/38), from 3 point range 30% (3/10) and from the free throw line 75% (6/8). The Trojans dominated the second half scoring 43 points the the Thunderbirds 23, to win the game with a score of 80-49. For the game the Trojans were 45.7% from the field (32/70), 31.8% from 3 pointers (7/22) and 64.3% from the free throw line (9/14), Highline only shot 33.8% from the field (22/65), 7.69% from 3 point range (1/13) and 50% from the free throw line (4/8).   • Men's Final Day results from Crossover 12/16 - At 2:00pm on Sunday afternoon, the Trojans faced the Yaks of Yakima Valley CC for 3rd & 5th places in the NWAACC 2012 Crossover Tournament at Green River CC. On the 1st NWAACC Coaches Poll for the 2012-13 season the Yaks were ranked #1. From the start the game was close, as the largest lead was only 10 points, there were 6 lead changes and 5 ties. At half time, Everett was ahead 41-37. One of the ties was the end of regulation time 79-79. In the 5 minute overtime, this was also close and came down to the game winning shot at the buzzer by Everett's Zach Cooper. Everett won 91-89. For the game, the Trojans shot 37/82 (45.1%) total field goals; 9/21 (42.9%) 3 pointers; and 8/14 (57.1%) free throws. The Yaks shot 36/74 (48.6%) total field goals; 6/21 (28.6%) 3 pointers; and 11/16 (68.8%) free throws. Overall records for the Yaks is 6-3 and for the Trojans 7-2.   • Results Day 2 Women's Crossover 12/15 - At Highline CC in the second day of the Crossover Tournament, Everett faced Walla Walla CC in the 5:00pm game. The first half seemed like it was close, the Warriors were only ahead by 4 at half time 35-31. Walla Walla shot 14/30 (46.7%) from field goal; 3/7 (42.9%) 3 point range and 4/5 (80%) free throws. Everett was 13/31 (41.9%) from field goal; 3/9 (33.3%) 3 point range and from free throw line 2/6 (33.3%). In the beginning of the second half, Walla Walla started off on a 33-8 run to have a 29 point lead, however Everett came back to within 13 by the end of the game. Walla Walla won 78-65. Walla Walla's overall record is 9-1 and Everett is 5-4.   • Men's Crossover results Day 2 12/15 - The Trojans second game of the 2012 Crossover Tournament was against the host school - Green River CC. Tip off was a few minutes after 7pm. While their shooting percentages were somewhat better than the Trojans in the first half, the Gators only had a 2 point lead going into half time - 32-30. This game went back and forth from the beginning tip off as there were 19 lead changes and 9 ties. In the second half, the Gators still had better shooting percentages and outscored the Trojans 42-36 to win 74-66. Overall percentages for Everett - from field 34.7%, 3 point range 28.6% and free throws 47.1%; Green River - from the field 44.4%, 3 point range 35.3% and free throws 63.2%.   • Women's Crossover results 12/14 Day 1 - In their first game of the 2012 NWAACC Women's Basketball Crossover Tournament that was hosted by Highline CC in Des Moines, WA, the Trojans faced the Storm from Chemeketa CC. The game began at 3:00pm and was the second game of the day. During the first half, both teams shot 34 shots and Everett made 12 and Chemeketa made 11. The score at the half was 32-26 in Everett's favor. At the end of the game, both teams had made 23 shots however, Chemeketa shot 70 times (32.9%) to Everett's 58 (39.7%). From 3 point range, Everett was 7/19 (36.8%) to Chemeketa's 4/20 (20%) and from the Free Throw line Everett was 13/20 (65%) while Chemeketa was 6/9 (66.7%). Everett won the game with a score of 66-56. That game advanced them to the 5pm game on 12/15 against the Warriors of Walla Walla CC.   • Men's Crossover results Day 1 12/14 - The Men's Basketball Team were in Auburn, WA to participate in the 2012 Men's NWAACC Basketball Crossover that was hosted by Green River CC. Their first game was against the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College on Friday evening (12/14) at 5pm. The first half, both teams shot 50% from the field and were within 2% from 3 point range and within 5% from free throw line. Everett was ahead at half time by a score of 45-39. In the second half the Trojans secored 52 points to the Knights 46 to win the game 97-85. Everett shot 51.4% from the field, 23.5% from 3 point range and 65.5% from free throw line. Wenatchee shot 50% from the field, 47.4% from the 3 point range and 50% from the free throw line. Everett's overall record is 6-1 while Wenatchee is 2-6.   • 12/14 - 12/16 Basketball Crossovers - This upcoming weekend, both basketball teams will be participating in the 2012 NWAACC Basketball Crossover Tournaments. The Men will be in Auburn, WA at Green River CC while the Women will be in Des Moines, WA at Highline CC. Each tournament is a three day event and is a double elimination style tournament. On Friday, Dec. 14th, the Women play at 3:00pm vs Chemeketa CC and the Men play at 5:00pm vs Wenatchee Valley College. Depending on how they each do on Friday, will determine when they play on Saturday. The Women could play at either 1pm (if lose on Fri) or 5pm (if win on Fri); the Men could play at either Portland CC or Green River CC at either 2:30pm (if lose on Fri) or 7pm (if win on Fri).   • Women's Basketball results 12/8 - Saturday evening in the Student Fitness Center, the Everett Trojans Women's Basketball Team hosted a non-league game with the Eagles from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The Eagles, a four year university, were down from British Columbia to play this game. From the beginning of the game, the Trojans dominated the game. Score at half time was Everett 42, Kwantlen 29. Everett had shot 42.5% to Kwantlen's 37.5% from the field; 42.9% to Kwantlen's 16.7% from 3-point range and 71.4% to 75% from the free throw line. During the second half, it didn't get much better for the Eagles. The Trojans outscored them 34-15, thus winning the game 76-44. Everett is now 4-3 overall.   • Men's Basketball results 12/7 - Blue Mountain CC was in Everett on Friday night, December 7th to play the Men's team in non-league play. Everett jumped out to an early lead and never let it go. Score at the half was 52-36 with Everett leading. The Trojans had shot 48.9% from the field, 43.8% from three-point range and 50% from the free throw line, the Timberwolves shot 37.8% from the field, and 66.7% from the free throw line. In the second half, the Timberwolves were close in scoring to the Trojans, however, with the lead from the first half, the Trojans went on to win with a score of 99-81. For the game, Everett shot 41/86 47.7% from the field, 9/23 39.1% from three point range and 8/17 from the free throw line.   • 1st Basketball Coaches Polls 12/6 - The NWAACC released the first basketball coaches polls for the 2012-13 seasons on December 6th. Yakima Valley CC held the top spot for the Men while Lane CC held it for the Women. Three Northern Region teams were in the Men's top 8 (Edmonds CC 2nd; Bellevue College tied 4th; Skagit Valley College 7th), and one received votes - Whatcom CC. This is the second meeting between the two teams. The first half was a closely played half. The Trojans shot 36.7% with 31 points to the Knights 37.1% with 34 points. The second half was a little different. The Trojans only shot 29.4% with 27 points to the Knights 50.0% with 35 points. Wenatchee not only won 69-58, but also out rebounded the Trojans 54-31.   • Men's Basketball results vs TCC 12/1 - The Trojan Men's Basketball Team hosted the 2011-12 NWAACC defending Champions - the Tacoma CC Titans on Saturday night, December 1st. Tip off was at 7:30pm and was a pretty fast paced game. While the Trojans were ahead at half time by 3 points - 40-37, the Titans had a better shooting percentage 64.4% to 40.0%, however the Trojans had a better Free Throw percentage 77.8% to 25.0%. In the second half, the Trojans went 19/31 for 61.3% with 53 points to the Titans 16/33 for 48.5% with 48 points. There were 7 lead changes and the largest lead was 11 points in favor of the Trojans. With a score of 93-85, the Trojans get the "W". Everett is now 3-1 overall while Tacoma is 2-2 overall.   • Women's Basketball results vs Pierce 11/30 - In the non-league women's game that took place on Friday, November 30th, at 7pm, the Raiders of Pierce College were in Everett to play the Trojans. From the onset the game was dominated by the Trojans. In the first half, the Trojans were 19/37 (51.4%) from the floor, 4/8 (50.0%) from 3 point range and 8/13 (61.5%) from the free throw line. The Raiders were 7/33 from the floor, 1-10 from 3 point range and 11/20 from the free throw line. Score at half time was 50-26 Everett. The second half was a little bit more even. Everett shot 37.9% to Pierce's 36.4% from the floor, 20.0% to 28.6% from 3 point range and 62.5% to 60.0% from the free throw line. Even though the Raiders outscored the Trojans in the second half, it wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit, Everett won 84-69. Everett now has an overall record of 3-2 and Pierce's overall record is 2-3. Game began at 3pm and at the end of the first half, the Knights were ahead with a score of 36-23. In the second half, the Trojans outscored the Knights, however were not able to overcome the deficit created in the first half, losing 57-69. The Trojans are now 2-2 overall while the Knights are 1-1 overall.   • Men's Basketball Red Devil Classic Final Day - The 3rd and final day of the 2012 LCC Red Devil Classic, started at 12pm with the Everett vs Centralia game. The winner of this game would take 4th place in the tournament with the loser taking 6th place. Both teams lost on the first day and survived the loser out second day to make it to this game. In the first half, both teams shot very well. Everett shot 41.2% while Centralia shot 40.6%. Everett was ahead by 4 points going into half time. During the second half, Centralia shot 60% in field goals and 3 pointers to the Trojans 42.9% in field goals and 57.1% in 3 pointers, however the Trojans had a better free throw % - 70.6% to the Trailblazers 58.3%. There was a one point difference in second half scoring. Everett scored 50 to Centralia's 49 points. The Trojans took 4th place with a 87-82 win. Everett now has an overall record of 2-1 with Centralia having an overall record of 2-2.   • Men's Basketball LCC Red Devil Classic Day 2 results - The 3pm game of the Red Devil Classic on Saturday, 11/24, was a loser out game and it featured EvCC Trojans vs the Lakers of Southwestern Oregon CC. The Trojans definitely showed up to play for this game. The score at half time was Trojans 42, Lakers 23. At one point in the second half, the Trojans were ahead of the Lakers by 22 points. SWOCC did try to come back, and they did outscore Everett in the second half 52-44, unfortunately for them, they weren't able to beat the Trojans. Everett won 86-75. Everett is now 1-1 overall and SWOCC is 1-2 overall.   • Men's Basketball Red Devil Classic results Day 1 - The first day of the 2012 Lower Columbia College Red Devil Classic had the Trojans facing the host - LCC Red Devils at 8pm on Friday, November 23rd. According to one of the captains, the Trojans just didn't play their game. They missed a lot of open shots and free throws leading the Red Devils to win the game 69-65. This was the Trojans first game of the 2012-13 season - taking them to a 0-1 overall record. Lower Columbia has an 1-0 overall record. Highs for the game: LCC - Ryan Roger 25 points & 11 rebounds; Jan Konig 16 points & 13 rebounds; Nate Trotter 8 points & 13 rebounds. EvCC - RJ Magar 15 points; Jarrell Banks 10 points & 11 rebounds. The Trojans will play at 3pm on Saturday against the Lakers of Southwestern Oregon CC, while LCC moves on to play at 8 pm against the CC's of Spokane.

  • 11/25 - Women's Basketball @ Wenatchee Valley - The Women's Basketball Team will travel to Wenatchee, WA to play a non-league game with the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College on Sunday afternoon - November 25th.   • 11/23-11/25 Men's Basketball @ LCC - The Men's Basketball Team will be in Longview, WA on Friday, Nov. 23rd, to participate in the 2012 Lower Columbia College Red Devil Classic. This is a three day, double elimination tournament. The Trojans will face the Red Devils of Lower Columbia College at 8:00pm on Friday night. Saturday's game time and opponent won't be determined until the end of the Trojans first game. They must win at least one game to advance to play on Sunday.
