Student Emergency Assistance Funds

Student Emergency Assistance Funds have been exhausted for the academic year. The Spring quarter request form is now open. The request form will remain open, and students contacted if additional funds become available.

Your academic success is important. If your grades are being affected by a financial emergency and you are considering dropping classes, our Student Emergency Assistance Funds may be able to help. We define an emergency as a sudden or unexpected situation which creates financial stress and affects your ability to continue your college education. Homelessness is always considered an emergency, no matter how long you have been homeless.

You may request funds as many times as needed if you experience more than one emergency. We have multiple sources of funding, including SEAG and SSEH, which have different rules and eligibility requirements - there is no guarantee that we will be able to provide assistance for every emergency you experience.

Eligible expenses include but are not limited to: gas money, bus fares, car repairs, rent assistance, short-term emergency housing (hotel stays), security deposits, child-related expenses, groceries, health-related expenses, utilities, books and school supplies, technology, testing fees, laundry vouchers…and more!
We cannot pay for recurring expenses, tuition and fees, past debts, parking tickets, or fines.

To request funds, please fill out the Request Form.

After completing the request form, please check your email often. We will email you about your request and whether we need any additional documentation.

The majority of Student Emergency Assistance Funds do not need to be paid back. Some students may be funded through the Emergency Book Loan program, and those funds need to be paid back before the end of the quarter. Some emergency assistance funds will be reported to the Financial Aid Office and may affect need when calculating financial aid eligibility and awards.
