My inspiration came from a study of screen prints from the mid 1930’s that were in response to the Great Depression. There was a federal arts project formed by the Works Progress Administration that created jobs for struggling artists to create posters that promoted the landscapes and wildlife of America’s parks. I designed this poster to illustrate what I would do if I was given the job of designing a poster for the Olympic National Park.
