In creating this work I used a process where I dyed a series of paper sheets in a range of values from dark to light, and then, in the style of a collage, cut them apart and glued them to a fresh sheet of paper, so as to interpret the setup I was working from onto the page. I was working from an in-class still life put together by the teacher, and, if given the option to do it again, I would prefer to work from a subject that relates more to me personally, but even given the subject matter I was quite pleased with the result of this piece and look forward to experimenting more with this medium in the future.
