I grew up in a very religious environment, where sometimes it’s hard to be heard. I feel this piece speaks to how impactful a truly listening ear can be. While I’m still very religious/spiritual, I’ve found that outside of my religious setting I can speak what I believe and be accepted for that.

In the Solace of Strangers

I’ve found a certain solace in the strangers I will never again encounter. Where I can say what I believe rather than be told what to believe. They’ve quickly become my soul’s reliance on freedom provided. No strings attached, just feelings etched into my head, where my multitudes of masks can be forsaken just like my acquaintances.

My confidence in these confidants is admittedly dumb. Yet in the solace of strangers I’ve lost my façade.
