Graduation Application Process

Congratulations on being close to completing your degree or certificate! For EvCC to award a degree or certificate, you must complete and submit a Graduation Application.

Before you submit a graduation application, are you eligible to graduate?Students have the responsibility of verifying specific graduation requirements with their assigned program advisors. Specific program requirements are stipulated on the Program Checklists. Please see our catalog for graduation rules if you have been gone for more than 12 months. To confirm if you are eligible to graduate, please make an appointment with your program advisor. You can find your assigned advisor in your ctcLink account. If your assigned advisor in ctcLink is incorrect, or you have not been assigned an advisor, please reach out to our Advising Center. |

When can I apply?Students should apply for graduation by the deadline. The application is available starting the third week of the previous quarter through the second week of the graduation quarter. Applications are available from:
Applications are processed in the order they are received. We encourage students to apply as soon as their application window opens. If you have missed the deadline, please apply for the next quarter. We do accept applications on an ongoing basis. Applying late will delay posting the degree until the end of the following quarter, when final grades post. |

What items do I need to complete the Graduation Application?You will be asked for the following items: 1. You will need a completed checklist.:Please submit one of the following:
You only need to attach one. Note: Starfish and the AAR is meant to be used as a tool. There may be errors due to coding. We recommend that you use these tools alongside a completed checklist. Please consult with your program advisor and checklist for accuracy. You can view your Academic Advisement Report for your degree or certificate by logging into ctcLink and selecting Student Homepage > Academic Progress. 2. You will need a list of future classes:If you are a current student, you will need to know the classes you intend to take in your final quarter. If you are not sure, you can indicate the distribution areas you need to take. (Humanities, Natural Science, Natural Science with Lab, Social Science, A or B List elective, Basic Communication, etc) If you have already completed all of your classes, you can leave this box blank on the graduation application. |

Complete the online Graduation ApplicationOnce you have completed or verified the previous steps, students are ready to apply for graduation! The Graduation Application is available within the MyEvCC Student Portal and is free to complete. Please do not apply for graduation in ctcLink. We are currently not using this function. |

I applied. What happens next?Once a graduation application is submitted, you will receive an email confirming the application was received by Enrollment Services. You will not receive any additional communication until after the final grades have been posted. If you have questions about eligibility, please make an appointment with your program advisor. Applications are processed in the order they are received. Here is the estimated timeline for graduation processing:

RSVP for CommencementThe College holds one Graduation Celebration event each June. Some programs, such as Nursing and ORCA, hold separate events. You will receive Graduation Celebration information after you have RSVP'd to participate; information includes date, time, and location, how to order a gown, and more. If you are planning to participate in the Graduation Celebration in June, be sure to RSVP with Student LIFE. |
What are Digital Diplomas?
Everett Community College implemented a new service for students in 2025. Students earning a degree or certificate beginning with Winter Quarter 2025 will receive a digital diploma in addition to a paper diploma.

The digital diploma can be claimed by the graduate and shared if desired to social network platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. The digital diploma cannot be printed.
Re-ordering Diplomas?
You may reorder your diploma through Parchment if you lose the original or would like another copy. There is a 20.00 cost.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. I found an error on my Academic Advisement Report (AAR) or Starfish Degree Planner.
For errors found on the AAR, please email graduation@everettcc.edu. For errors found on the Starfish Degree Planner, please email starfish@everettcc.edu.
2. The wrong degree has been posted on my transcript.

3. How do I order my cap and gown? Or my specific graduation regalia?
Please visit Graduation Celebration for more information.
4. I lost my diploma, or I need to order another copy.
There is no charge for the first copy of your diploma. If you need a replacement copy in the future, the cost is $20.00. Please email graduation@everettcc.edu.
5. How do I make changes to my submitted graduation application?
If you have already submitted your graduation application and you need to make a change such as: update address, name or program: Please email graduation@everettcc.edu. Changes in ctcLink will not update your submitted graduation application.
6. When do I get my Degree?
The Graduation Office will review your application after the end of the quarter. It usually takes several weeks after finals to review all degrees. If you are qualified to graduate, your degree will be added to your transcript. You can view your unofficial transcript in your ctcLink account.
After your degree is awarded, you will receive a digital diploma through Parchment. The paper diplomas will take several weeks to print and mail. If you need to show proof of graduation, please use your official transcript.
7. I missed the application, What can I do?
If you missed the application deadline, you can still apply for the next quarter. However, your degree may be delayed by several weeks.
