What did you study at EvCC?
Criminal Justice

Why did you choose EvCC?
As a high school student I was given the opportunity to earn college credit through EvCC’s Running Start Program. I have not only been awarded a High School Diploma, but an Associate in Arts & Sciences degree as well.

How did your family feel about you attending EvCC?
My family was happy about me attending EvCC because I was choosing to further my education. They are very proud of me and I could not have accomplished what I have done if it wasn’t for all of their love and support.

What advice do you have for new EvCC students?
Ask questions. If you ever feel lost or are unsure about something, don’t be afraid to ask questions. There are several resources on campus and staff who are more than happy to help you and answer your questions.

What do you plan to do next? (Job, transfer, etc.)
2017 update: Raquel earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Washington Tacoma in June 2017.

Anything else you want to add?
I invite all students and families in the Hispanic community to not give up, to ask questions and find out information about the opportunities available to you so that you may achieve your goals and dreams. The doors of Everett Community College are open to all of you who would like to further your education.
