Student Spotlight - Bryan Pine

Bryan PineTell me a little bit about yourself, including the degree or certificate you earned from EvCC.

My name is Bryan Khant Pine, and I graduated from EvCC with an Associate in Arts and Sciences in psychology.

Why did you choose EvCC?

I chose EvCC because of its Special Underage Admissions Process, which allowed me to start attending the college full-time at 14 years old in 2022, and graduate at 16 years old in 2024.

What do you plan to do next?

I am planning to pursue my education in psychology further, starting with a bachelor’s from the University of Washington - Bothell (UWB), where I was accepted.

What interested you about your area of study?

I love knowing more about human beings, and trying my best to help others, so entering the field of psychology would give me the opportunity to do both.

How do you think the skills you learned at EvCC are helping you reach your goals?

At EvCC, I was able to learn more about human cognition and behavior, the knowledge of which gives me a better foundation to assist and understand others.

Describe the best experience you had at EvCC.

As an extrovert, the best experience I remember having at EvCC was attending a class on Intercultural Communication that prioritized group-work and participation.

Who has helped you succeed at EvCC? What did that person do to help you?

My pathways coach has helped me succeed at EvCC by helping me understand the college process, and clear up any confusion I had.

What advice do you have for new students?

Most of the students and staff at this school are friendly, so I would try to not be afraid about talking to them and asking questions.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
