Universal Totem

Artist: Alex Paul 

Location: Olympus Hall (East Side)

Related Information: The Universal Totem was a gift to the EvCC students from the United Native American Council and the Circle of Friends. The artists are Alex Paul Sr. and the Paul family, a multi-generational carving family who reside on the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community near La Conner, WA. The totem pole is facing east oriented to honor the new day's sunrise and the spirits that live in the east.  The totem was dedicated to the memory of Isabelle Paul, the Lady of the Dawn.
