Diversity Course Requirement for Associate Degrees

EvCC emphasizes the importance of understanding diverse perspectives in our society by establishing a diversity course requirement in all its associate degrees.

Diversity courses are listed with a "D" in the course number, such as ART 124D or HUMN 160D. Students must complete at least one diversity course within their degree. Please see an advisor to plan your courses for the transfer degree, or send an e-mail to admissions@everettcc.edu if you have questions.

Students who are returning to EvCC after an absence, or who began their study before Fall 2001 or 2002 should read the implementation policy below:

  • Students who are new to EvCC in Fall 2001 (or thereafter) and students who return to EvCC in Fall 2001 (or thereafter) after a year or more absence, are subject to the new requirement if they wish to obtain the Associate in Arts and Science - Direct Transfer ("DTA") degree.
  • Students who are new to EvCC in Fall 2002 (or thereafter) and students who return to EvCC in Fall 2002 (or thereafter) after a year or more of absence, are subject to the diversity requirement for any associate degree.
