Tips to prevent disbursement delays for Spring Quarter 2025
Stay informed! Meeting priority processing dates, and monitoring your ctcLink student account will help ensure you a smooth financial aid process for Winter Quarter 2025.
Submit Financial Aid Applications by the Spring Quarter 2025 Priority Processing Date: February 17, 2025
- To ensure timely financial aid disbursement, submit the 2024-25 FAFSA or WASFA and all required documents by February 17, 2025.
- Winter disbursements will begin processing on April 2nd, 2025, for enrolled students who've been officially offered financial aid.
- Remember, the 'Disbursement Date' in your Financial Aid Tile is when the college begins processing financial aid refunds - it is not when actual funds are made available to you through your BankMobile account.
Checking Your Application Status and Missing Information:
- Use your ctcLink student account's Financial Aid Tile to review application status, view awards, and check for any missing information on your Task List or To-Do List.
Seeking Assistance if Necessary:
- If you met the February 17, 2025 priority processing date and haven't received a Financial Aid Offer Letter or a Denied Eligibility Notification in your email account, or you do not see aid offered to you in your FInancial Aid Tile, please visit the Financial Aid office in Parks 307 during office hours, email fin_aid@everettcc.edu, or call 425-388-9280 for assistance. Students can get in person customer service for Financial Aid in Parks 307.
BankMobile Disbursements and Tuition Payments:
- Choose your refund preference with BankMobile Disbursements via the provided link as soon as you receive your Financial Aid Offer Letter.
- Check your Finances Tab in ctcLink to view your Winter tuition payment deducted from the total of accepted awards for Winter Quarter.
Registration and Enrollment Level:
-
Ensure you're registered for the enrollment level for which your aid was calculated.
Beginning with the 2024-2025 aid year, the Pell Grant, Washington College Grant and College Bound Scholarship will no longer be based on enrollment status. Instead, disbursement amounts will be calculated using Enrollment Intensity – which is a percentage value based on the number of credits a student is enrolled in (rounded to the nearest whole percent) at Census. The chart below illustrates how enrollment intensity is determined based on credit load:
Enrollment Level - Enrollment Intensity Chart
Credit Hours Enrollment Category Enrollment Intensity 12 (or more) Full-Time 100% of the award 11 Three-Quarter Time 93% of the award 10 Three-Quarter Time 82% of the award 9 Three-Quarter Time 75% of the award 8 Half-Time 67% of the award 7 Half-Time 58% of the award 6 Half-Time 50% of the award 5 Less than Half-Time 42% of the award 4 Less than Half-Time 33% of the award 3 Less than Half-Time 25% of the award 2 Less than Half-Time 17% of the award 1 Less than Half-Time 8% of the award - Ensure your delcared major/program plan is the same program that your financial aid eligibilty was based upon. If you change programs, you must submit a Program Change Appeal Form to the Financial Aid Office to avoid a repayment.
- If enrolling less than full-time, submit the Enrollment Change Form to the Financial Aid Office to recalculate your aid package.
- Washington College Grant, College Bound, Washington Bridge Grant and Everett Grant require a minium of 3 credits that are applicable to your program plan.
Course Selection and Eligibility:
- Register only for financial aid-eligible courses necessary for your degree or certificate program at EvCC. TS or ABE courses are not financial aid eligible.
- Audited courses are ineligible for financial aid and may lead to aid recalculations or potential billing, if a class is audited after receiving aid.
Clearing Outstanding Debts:
- Clear any outstanding debts to EvCC (e.g., parking fines, library fines) as they can stop your financial aid refund from disbursing.
Covering Tuition Gaps and Additional Expenses:
- If your total aid doesn't cover all tuition and fees, you might need to pay the remaining charges out of pocket, arrange a payment plan, or consider a student loan.
Book Vouchers and Educational Expenses:
- The Financial Aid Office doesn’t provide book vouchers or bookstore accounts. Any remaining financial aid funds after tuition and fees have been deducted can be used for educational expenses, including books and equipment.
Specific Award Program Requirements:
- Some aid programs have minimum enrollment level requirements (e.g., 6 minimum credits for Loans and Work Study, 3 credit minimum for Washington College Grant and College Bound Scholarship, and 1 credit minimum for Pell Grant). For any questions regarding your award adjustment or other inquiries, please contact us via email at fin_aid@everettcc.edu or call during office hours at 425-388-9280.
