Leader Spotlight - Kristen McConaha
Name: Kristen McConaha
Title: Executive Director of College Advancement and the EvCC Foundation
What do you do at EvCC?
I lead the EvCC Foundation, which does crucial fundraising for scholarships, academic programs and campus enhancements. My responsibilities include engaging with the community, fostering alumni relations, and securing grants and endowments. I also coordinate events, advocate for the college, and ensure proper fund stewardship.
Additionally, I oversee an outstanding team at our Corporate & Continuing Education Center, guiding impactful short-term professional development and skills enhancement programs tailored to benefit both our community and industry partners.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I am all about helping students achieve their educational goals. Some of my favorite work is when I streamline processes and eliminate obstacles for students. Ensuring students have improved access to education and essential services is key for their goal achievement. The camaraderie with my team, whether on or off campus, provides the energy and motivation needed to continually drive progress in this meaningful work.
What is the most exciting or inspiring thing you're working on right now?
I am transitioning into this new role with the Foundation and the inspiration it brings so far is hands-down remarkable. I have a passion for my work leading short-term education and training through our Corporate & Continuing Education Center, and I am newly and truly energized by my role at the Foundation. This is particularly true when I successfully align funding with equitable initiatives. Being part of the process that ensures resources are distributed to promote inclusivity is incredibly gratifying.
What's the best-kept secret about Everett?
I love going with my family to our local AquaSox games, but newer to me are the amazing EvCC Athletics teams. Go Trojans! Also, I highly recommend stopping by one of my favorite coffee spots, Refined Coffee
, right by EvCC’s campus. They have an amazing iced peach mocha and are owned by EvCC alumni! Win-win.
