Distinguished Alumni - 2007

Everett Community College presented its first Distinguished Alumni Awards at the college's 65th graduation.

Washington State Sen. Jean Berkey

Jean Berkey became an Everett Junior College student in 1956, attending school for a quarter before entering the workforce. She returned to EvCC in 1971, earning her degree the next year, then continuing to the University of Washington for her bachelor's degree in business. Berkey also served as a member of the EvCC’s Board of Trustees in the 1980s. She served in the Washington State Legislature 2001-2010.

Stan Boreson

Stan Boreson, who grew up in Everett, was the longtime host of KING-TV’s kid’s show "King’s Klubhouse," later retitled "The Stan Boreson Show." Known as the "King of Scandinavian Humor," Boreson appeared on Seattle television shows for nearly two decades. Boreson attended Everett Junior College in 1946 and 1947 before transferring to the University of Washington.
