EvCC's Alumni Association selected Larry Hanson and Joe Cooper for the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Awards. This is the third year the association has named distinguished alumni.

Honorees have demonstrated leadership in their chosen professions and distinguished themselves through service to their communities. The award is the highest honor given to Everett Community College and Everett Junior College alumni.
Larry Hanson
Larry Hanson was the College yearbook editor in 1958 and 1959, and has been involved in civic improvement activities in the Everett area for over 40 years. He is the retired publisher of the Everett Herald.
Joe Cooper
Joe Cooper attended Everett Junior College in 1945-47, then went on to enjoy a successful business career, including the position of lead accountant for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. He is a longtime supporter of college programs.
