Vendor System Network Status

Everett Community College integrates with many 3rd party systems. On occasion, those web sites and tools also are impacted by outages. Here is a list of some of the provided vendor System Statuses:

EvCC Tech Services will perform scheduled maintenance on the campus network between 9 p.m. and midnight, Saturday, May 4.

Access to the following resources may be limited: 

  • On-campus network and internet service
  • EvCC main website and intranet
  • Canvas (unless you log into Canvas before 9 p.m.)

The following resources will not be affected:

  • Google Suite (email, docs, IM, etc.), including student email
  • EvCC phone system
  • ctcLink
  • AWS Virtual Desktop
  • "EvCC" open WiFi access

outage calendar icon ctcLink Down Time - April 27th, 2024

The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will be upgrading ctcLink PeopleSoft applications to PeopleTools version 8.59.21 on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

  • The Cashier's Office will be unable to process transactions and will close at noon on Friday, April 26.
  • ctcLink will be offline during the maintenance window.
  • You'll be able to login to Canvas during the outage using this link: https://everettcc.instructure.com/login/ldap

SBCTC will be installing Oracle patches during this maintenance window, 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

  • The entire ctcLink production environment will remain offline during the maintenance window.
  • Users logging into ctcLink will be directed to an offline notice with links to college Canvas sites.
  • Canvas will not be impacted.

outage calendar icon Planned Outage - December 9th, 2023

ctcLink and online registration will be unavailable 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 while the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges conducts server maintenance.

  • EvCC’s class schedule and online registration will be unavailable. 
  • The entire ctcLink production environment will remain offline during the maintenance window.
  • Users logging into ctcLink will be directed to an offline notice with links to college Canvas sites.
  • Canvas will not be impacted, but users will need to access it directly rather than through ctcLink.

outage calendar icon ctcLink Down Time – Server Maintenance, HCM Image 46 Update - August 26th, 2023

SBCTC will be performing maintenance on ctcLink to deploy server updates and HCM Image 46. ctcLink will be offline for server maintenance on Saturday, August 26 from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Please read the details for pillar and integrated software unavailability:

  • ctcLink will be unavailable for the first hour of the maintenance period.
  • The Human Capital Management (HCM) pillar will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
  • The Portal, Campus Solutions (CS), and Finance pillars will be unavailable during the first hour of the maintenance period.
  • Admissions (OAAP) and HighPoint HCX mobile pages will be unavailable during the first hour of the maintenance period.
  • Integration between CampusCE and ctcLink will be unavailable during the first hour of the maintenance period.
  • Canvas will not be impacted.

outage calendar icon ctcLink Production Environment Server Maintenance - August 12th, 2023 

SBCTC will be performing maintenance on ctcLink to deploy server updates, deploy CS Image 29, and apply an update for HighPoint HCX. This server maintenance update is taking place on August 12th, 2023 between 5:00am and 1:00pm. 

  • Students will not be able to apply to EvCC or register for classes during the outage.
  • ctcLink will be unavailable for the first hour of the maintenance period, and Student Homepage will be unavailable for the full maintenance period.
  • The Campus Solutions pillar will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
  • Admissions (OAAP) and HighPoint HCX mobile pages will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
  • Integration between CampusCE and ctcLink will be unavailable during the maintenance period.
  • After the first hour of maintenance, the Portal, HCM, and Finance pillars will remain online for the remainder of the maintenance period.
  • Canvas will not be impacted and will available at: https://everettcc.instructure.com/login/ldap

outage calendar icon ctcLink Outage Alert - April 29, 2023

ctcLink will be down for system upgrades Sat, Apr. 29, 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. As a result, EvCC cashiers’ office will close early on Fri, Apr. 28 at 12 p.m. You’ll be able to log in to Canvas during the outage.

The website, intranet, phone service, on-campus login, and servers will be unavailable from approximately 1-2 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 for planned system maintenance. Email and ctcLink will remain available.

outage calendar icon ctcLink Production Environment Server Maintenance - February 25, 2023

ctcLink will be offline for server maintenance on Saturday, February 25 for approximately one and a half hours (7:00am - 8:30am).  

SBCTC will be installing critical Oracle patches during this maintenance window.

  • The entire ctcLink production environment will remain offline during the maintenance window.
  • Users logging into ctcLink will be directed to an offline notice.
  • Canvas will not be impacted but users will need to access Canvas directly rather than through ctcLink.

outage calendar icon Planned Student System Upgrade/Outage (ctcLink) - November 4-8, 2021

On November 8, Everett Community College will join other community and technical colleges in our state in moving to a new system for student registration and self-service called ctcLinkctcLink will provide a set of mobile-friendly tools for you to manage your college business online. It will allow you to:

  • View or update your student information and manage personal contact info.
  • Register for classes, add, and drop.
  • Pay tuition and fees and handle financial aid processes.
  • View your grades and course history.
  • Contact your instructors or advisor.

With ctcLink, you'll have 24/7 access to an online student center, and so will your advisors and instructors. Your system ID credentials will also follow you within the state community and technical college system. ctcLink replaces the college's current HP system, which EvCC and other community and technical colleges have used since the mid-1980s. Learn More about EvCC's ctcLink.

Starting Thursday, November 4, Many of our systems will be offline during the conversion to the new ctcLink (PeopleSoft) system. This includes the Student Record Tools (Kiosk), Degree Audit, TLR, Instructor Briefcase.

On Monday, November 8, EvCC tools will have an additional outage to change over to the new accounts which include MyEvCC, MyAccount and Directory Management.

Impact: HIGH - CTC Student Record Tools, TLR, Financial Aid Student Portal, Degree Planner, Online Registration will be offline and switch to the new ctcLink Student Self Center.

outage calendar icon Network/Phone Upgrade and Outage - Thursday, October 7th, 2021

1:20am 10/8/21 - We are all back online! Thanks for your patience.

We will be performing an upgrade to our network and connection to campus on Thursday, October 7th, from 9pm - 12 1:30am. This will cause internet and phone outages on the main EvCC Everett campus, including any connection from our offsite locations including Cosmetology, Aviation, CCEC, AMTEC and ORCA. The main EvCC web site and Intranet will not be accessible. Network drives will not be available from AWS Appstream & Workspaces. Authentication will also not validate any logins during the time window including Canvas, Campus Labs, Starfish, Adobe, and Microsoft Office. Follow EvCC's TechHUB on Facebook and Twitter for updates during the outage.

It is recommended students and faculty login to Canvas, Starfish & CampusLabs before 9pm to keep an active session during the local network outage at EvCC.

Updates:

  • 9:15pm - Prep equipment for upgrades
  • 10:30pm - Delay in reboots for new equipment
  • 11:45pm - We are extending the outage till 1:30am
  • 12:15pm 10/8/21 - Network outage has started
  • 12:45pm - Many web sites and authentication services are coming back. Please be patient.
  • 1:20am -- All Sites, Phones and Authentication Services are back online

Impact: HIGH

  • Public EvCC Website and EvCC Intranet will not be available
  • EvCC Authentication for Canvas, Campus Labs, Starfish, Adobe, Rydin and Microsoft Office (Authentication to apps using EvCC Google account will still work. e.g. Zoom, Adobe Acrobat Sign)
  • All main EvCC campus buildings network internet outage and limited phone connections
  • Connection to SBCTC (HP) will be offline
  • Network drives will not be available in AWS Appstream & Workspaces

Campus Open WiFi, SBCTC Kiosk Student Tools and Google (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar) will remain online.

outage calendar icon Intranet Upgrade and Outage - June 30th, 2021

Update 8pm PST: All connections to Intranet are resolving correctly. Thanks for your patience.

Update 5pm PST: Intranet upgrade has migrated to the new infrastructure. On campus employees can now access the new site. Off campus employees may still experience connection issues while the domain is resolving with most Internet Service Providers.

We will upgrading web server environment on Wednesday, June 30th from 3pm - 4pm. This upgrade will provide a more stable and accessible Intranet web site for employees. This upgrade will cause intermittent outages while the domain transfer occurs during this time. 

Access to Time Reporting will still be available.

Updates and Changes:

  • New modern and accessible Intranet template
  • Active Data Portal will be turned off and redirect to the Student Course Lookup Tool
  • Content Management System has been moved from eVault to Drupal
  • eVault features such as Forums and Widgets have been removed

Impact: Medium -- Access to the Intranet web pages and applications will be briefly unavailable

  • 7:30pm RESOLVED! Our websites are now showing connections to all our teams. Thank you for your patience!
  • 6:30pm Update -- We are now showing access to our website, Intranet and Canvas are working again! Will update once we show stable across all our networks.
    • Imperva - Monitoring - "A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results." Customer experience varies based on expiration of DNS record time-to-live (TTL) values in resolver caches.
  • 5:30pm Update: Our network / cloud firewall provider is currently experiencing outages which provide connection to our public and additional website https://status.imperva.com/ -- Updates next at 6:30pm
  • 5:05pm Update: Intermittent campus connection from internet providers external to campus. WiFi on campus also outage to external network. Update next at 5:30pm
  • 4:30pm - We are experiencing network issues causing outage to the public website, Intranet and login to Canvas. More updates soon.

warning cogwheel icon Google Hangouts to Chat Upgrade - October 23, 2020

We’re excited to share that we’ll be transitioning everyone at EvCC to Google’s newest enterprise-grade collaboration product, Google Chat. Chat has a modern UI, team rooms that support better team collaboration, emoji reactions to make work fun, and bots to help you be more productive, and much more.

Beginning Friday, October 23rd, EvCC will start using Chat for 1:1 direct messages (DMs), group messages, and team discussions. Classic Hangouts apps will be turned off. Google has announced Classic Hangouts will be phased out, but no official date has been given except coming soon.

How do I get Google Chat?

It's important to do the following before Friday, October 23rd as classic Hangout apps will stop working:

  • Explore the new Web experience at chat.google.com
  • Download the new mobile app for Android or iOS
  • Download the new standalone desktop app if you've been using the classic Hangouts Chrome extension or app. You'll be able to access the desktop app from a prompt that will appear inside chat.google.com
  • On Friday, October 23rd, refresh your Gmail to get the new Chat in Gmail experience.

Again, please make sure you install the Chat mobile app (Android or iOS) before Friday, October 23rd to minimize chances of missed messages.

Where do I find my old chats?

  • You will be able to continue recent 1:1 direct messages from classic Hangouts in Google Chat, but group messages from classic Hangouts (including their history) will not be migrated to Google Chat.
  • All previous chat history from classic Hangouts will be accessible in Gmail.
  • The classic Hangouts web interface for chat, hangouts.google.com will remain available during this transition in case you need more time to access and move certain group conversations. Users cannot chat in classic Hangouts by visiting hangouts.google.com in a mobile browser. 
  • The classic Hangouts bot will notify users of unread Classic group messages.

We are now prepared to consolidate our Microsoft Office 365 tenant / domains for better efficiency, management and readiness for authentication through Microsoft Azure AD. Those needing access to their past (Legacy) account will need to follow the Legacy login instructions.

Update 2:10pm: We now have phones working, including Jabber service for those remotely. The public web site is online, including Virtual Office (VO) and our VPN.

We are experiencing a network outage on campus that is affecting our EvCC web sites, Jabber phone service and some remote tools. We are looking into this issue and will provide an update as soon as possible via email and the EvCC IT social media on Facebook and Twitter
