Bead Who You Are 2025 |
January 8 1:00pm to 3:00pm |
In most cultures around the world, New Years is a time of rejuvenation, new starts, and resolutions for change. No matter when you celebrate the new year, the symbolism and significance is something we can all share. In this time of new starts, and rejuvenation, it’s important to take pride in oneself, and take pride in expressing oneself. To this end, EvCC Student LIFE Trojan Activities Board invites all students to join us in the PSU Trojan Annex on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 for Bead Who You Are 2025! This will be a casual stress-free event, taking place from 1pm - 3pm, where students will be able to drop by and enjoy FREE wintry snacks, hot beverages, and social time. Beads of different colors and designs will be available, corresponding to different identities, from religious and gender identities, to nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Students will have the opportunity to assemble either a necklace, a bracelet, or a keychain using beads that share who they are. We will also offer a limited selection of inspirational beads with words like dream, believe, friends, inspire and more, along with letter beads for spelling out their names. During this time, we will come together to take pride in the intersectionality within ourselves and each other, as well as creating inspirational and motivational tokens to bring us all positivity throughout 2025. Enjoy crafts? Love socializing with old friends, new friends, and strangers? This will be a fun and creative event for one and all, so be sure to join us in the Trojan Annex! Supplies are limited so don’t miss out! For more information on this event, please contact Skyler Stensrud, TAB Coordinator, at skhanson@everettcc.edu or Student LIFE Advisor, Lindsay Hudson, at lhudson@everettcc.edu or (425) 388-9508. Alice Kristiansen is a New York City-based singer and songwriter whose introspective pop songs have captivated audiences with its simplicity and emotional richness. With a musical style rooted in piano-driven melodies and soulful vocals,, she has built a loyal following since her early days on YouTube. Kristiansen first gained popularity in 2011 when she began posting covers of songs by a diverse array of artists, ranging from Adele and Arctic Monkeys to the Civil Wars, often Her channel experienced a surge in popularity in early 2015 when Ashton Kutcher shared her rendition of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" with his millions of followers. This newfound exposure helped Kristiansen refine her craft as a singer-songwriter, and she began experimenting with her own original material. In 2016, she released her first self-penned single, the haunting piano-and-strings ballad "Moon and Back," followed by the more upbeat and pop-leaning "Twilight Blue" later that summer. Her 2017 track "Lost My Mind" showcased her evolving sound and continued her growth as a versatile artist with an unmistakable voice. Alice Kristiansen will perform live music from her own collection as well as covers from songs you may already know and enjoy. As an opportunity to relax, enjoy free snacks and drinks, and have some fun, we hope you will join us for her performance at the Parks Cafe, January 16th, from 12pm - 1pm. Hope to see you there!
