Get Out: Movie Showcase and Discussion

Jordan peele's 2017 debut film "Get Out" is more than just an award winning horror film, it also features many hidden messages about how race is treated in today's society. "Get Out" Trailer and Wrap-Up: Chris' girlfriend, Rose, invites him to a weekend getaway at her parent's home. At first, Chris believes that her family's overly friendly behavior is a way to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but a series of disturbing events lead him to a much different truth about the family.

Join the crowd in watching the film for FREE in Jackson Center Wilderness Auditorium on Tuesday (2/4) from 2-5:30pm. After viewing the movie, join us at 4pm for an open discussion facilitated by DeLon Lewis (Diversity & Equity Center Program Manager). Let's analyze to understand the overall theme, discuss the contexts of the film's theme in our society, and dive into the meaning behind the symbols shown throughout the film!
