Student Wellbeing Day

The Student Well-being Event is a result of many student requests for additional mental support on campus. As mental health has become a taboo topic in the media, this event aims to raise awareness for mental distress among students as well as provide resources that support you in times of need.

The event will be all day, with events that fit into a schedule that allows you to pick and choose. All sorts of activities like yoga, free grab-and-go breakfast items, a petting zoo, and therapy dogs will be on the Index Lawn. While various open forum discussions, mindfulness exercises with EvCC Counselors, a quiet space designated for free sensory activities, crafts, anonymous texting, and an affirmation station will be set up for all-day use in Jackson Center. Due to the unique way that every individual may cope with mental distress, this event is designed to cater to students who prefer quiet pondering and to students who prefer louder activities.

We hope that you will walk away from this event with new tools that help you heal and cope, as well as better access to on campus resources such as through the EvCC Counseling Center. Ultimately, we hope that you feel that this campus is inclusive and a safe place for you to connect with one another.
