Blood Drive
Blood Drive - Hosted by the Student Nursing Organization (SNO)
Schedule Your Appointment!
Hey students! Ready to make a difference? The Student Nursing Organization (SNO) has teamed up with Bloodworks Northwest to host a Blood Drive on Monday, February 10th from 9:00AM to 3:00PM at the EvCC Wilderness Auditorium.
Why Donate?
You can help save up to 3 lives with just one donation! Hospitals rely on the generosity of donors like you to provide life-saving blood to patients in need. Bloodworks Northwest, which provides blood to hospitals across the Pacific Northwest, needs over 500 donations every day to meet the demand. Your donation can make a huge difference to people who are battling cancer, recovering from surgery, or suffering from trauma.
Did you know?
- Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. That means by the time you finish reading this, someone’s life could be saved by a blood donation.
- One donation can save up to 3 lives: Blood is separated into red cells, plasma, and platelets, each of which can help different patients in different ways.
- You can donate whole blood every 56 days—and your donation is needed year-round. Hospitals are always in need, but shortages are especially common during the summer and winter holidays.
- Blood cannot be artificially created—there is no substitute for human blood. That’s why donors are essential for the survival of patients in critical need.
- Donors aged 16 and older can donate blood, and the process is quick and easy. It usually takes less than an hour from check-in to post-donation snacks.
Why College Students Should Step Up: Historically, students made up 25% of all blood donations, but that number has dropped to just 10% since the pandemic, due to campus closures and social distancing. As students, you have the power to change that and make a big impact on the local blood supply.
