Lunar New Year Celebration

Asian Student Union (ASU) invites you to their Lunar New Year celebration event in Henry M. Jackson Conference Center,  Room 101 on Thursday, January 30, from 4-8pm! Join us for a fun night with delicious food, lucky money envelope decorating, origami, photo booths, trivia with prizes, a lion dance performance by Mak Fai, and more.

Lunar New Year is celebrated by Asian communities throughout the world to mark the arrival of spring, and the beginning of the new year on the lunar calendar. The holiday also marks the transition between zodiac signs; from 2024's Year of the Dragon, to 2025's Year of the Snake. The date of the celebrations vary each year as the holiday begins with the first new moon of the lunar year and concludes at the first full moon. This year, Lunar New Year begins on January 29th.

ASU's mission is to create a community where people feel included and can learn about other cultures through immersive experiences. This event is open to everyone, so come grab some free food, hang out with new people, and learn all about Lunar New Year!
