Scholarships & Conversation

A workshop to show students how to access the scholarship resources on the EvCC website and how to create profiles on The Washboard scholarship database. Laptops will be available so students can start working on writing scholarship applications during the workshop. The Diversity & Equity Center, the Writing Center, and PTK Honor Society will offer advice and help students get started on their applications. This workshop is important as a way to have students begin to do more effective financial planning while working on their writing skills.

Noche de Comida: Experience Latin American Food

The Community Kitchen Club will be hosting Noche de Comida: Experience Latin American Food, in which participants will cook together and eat together. The menu includes Spanish rice, refried beans, tacos, enchiladas, guacamole, chips and salsa. RSVP to communitykitchen@everettcc.edu by Wednesday, November 15 to reserve a spot! $5 suggested cash donation accepted at the door.

Finals week is just around the corner and it is easy to lose yourself in the huge pile of notes you have to go through! That is why it is important to take breaks and de-stress in order to refresh your mind, think clearly, and understand better before diving into some intense studying again! What better way to de-stress than to fold your way into finals with origami and to color your way to an A!

This event is open to students, community members, and families. A wide variety of resources will be present including EvCC Financial Aid, the Veteran Resource Center, Workforce Funding, PUD, the Everett Animal Shelter, Cocoon House, Evergreen Goodwill and more!

We welcome you to join us in celebrating Día de los Muertos, a special holiday all across Latin America and beyond, celebrating our difuntos - our loved ones who have passed. Experience a traditional altar and bring a photo of a deceased loved one to add to the altar. Learn the meaning behind el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). There will be activities, food and fun!

A Discussion of Changing Our Minds: The Story of Dr. Evelyn Hooker

In honor of LGBTQ History Month, we will be showing A Discussion of Changing Our Minds: The Story of Dr. Evelyn Hooker. Dr. Hooker was a psychiatrist who helped push the medical community to remove homosexuality from mental health diagnosis texts. There will also be light snacks. Sponsored by EvCC's Diversity & Equity Center.
