EVERETT, Wash. – Seattle Goodwill Industries honored Everett Community College as an outstanding community partner (nonprofit) for assistance with Goodwill’s new Marysville Youth Aerospace Program.

EvCC supported the development of the program, including creating a pre-employment course and offering tours and demonstrations to youth participants.

Seattle Goodwill Industries appreciated the college’s “can-do” attitude. The award was presented at a ceremony on Feb. 16.

The students in the Youth Aerospace Program will complete their second year of the Goodwill program by enrolling summer quarter in the EvCC 12-credit Manufacturing Employment Readiness course and earning three industry certificates, the National Career Readiness Certificate, an OSHA 30 certificate and the EvCC Manufacturing Pre-Employment Certificate.

Seattle Goodwill Industries is partnering with EvCC and Air Washington navigators to support students as they gain skills in the course. The course will build industry skills and provide a broad base for manufacturing employment and future education. The students will start this summer.
