Gov. Inslee appoints Jerry Martin to Everett Community College’s Board of Trustees

Jerry MartinEVERETT, Wash. – Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Jerry Martin to Everett Community College’s Board of Trustees.

Martin is the principle managing broker for RE/MAX Northwest’s Bothell office, overseeing the local operation of more than 60 real estate agents and staff. He served as president of the Washington Realtor Association in 2018 and as a state director for the National Association of Realtors. 

He also served as a board member for the EvCC Foundation from 2010 to 2020, leading the board as president from July 2014 to June 2016. 

“Jerry Martin has served his community with pride and integrity. Everett Community College students, faculty and staff will benefit from his business expertise and commitment to helping all students succeed,” said EvCC President Daria J. Willis.

Martin began his career as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he became a president/CEO in the banking industry, then a business owner, followed by a successful real estate career. He and his wife Carol live in Stanwood. 

“As a trustee at EvCC, I intend to be engaged within the college’s community and other activities in support of the school’s outstanding leadership, staff and student body whenever and wherever possible; all for the personal growth and betterment of others,” Martin said.

Martin replaces trustee Vickie K. Norris, whose term ended in September 2019. 

EvCC’s Board of Trustees meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the college’s Henry M. Jackson Center.
