Gov. Inslee appoints Kelly Shepherd to EvCC's Board of Trustees

Kelly ShepherdEVERETT, Wash. – Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Sequoia High School Principal Kelly Shepherd to Everett Community College’s Board of Trustees.

Shepherd, of Mukilteo, has worked in Everett Public Schools for almost 20 years. She’s led Sequoia High School for 10 years and previously served as principal at North Middle School. 

“Everett Community College’s students, faculty and staff will benefit from Kelly’s passionate advocacy for equitable access to opportunities for youth and adults in our community,” said EvCC President Daria Willis.  

Shepherd is chair of the Everett YMCA Board, a member of the Rotary Club of Everett and Everett Elks 479 and has served as a board member for the Everett Public Schools Foundation. Shepherd also recently served on the City of Everett Youth Homeless task force. 

Shepherd has a bachelor's degree in education from Pacific Lutheran University and master's degree in leadership from Western Washington University. Prior to working for Everett Public Schools, she was an assistant principal at Explorer Middle School and a teacher in the Puyallup School District.

Shepherd replaces trustee Mike Deller, whose term ended in October 2021. Shepherd will serve through September 2026.
