EVERETT, Wash. – Snohomish County residents and students are invited to connect with educational, training and basic needs resources at a free campus and community resource fair on Nov. 30 at Everett Community College (EvCC).

More than 12 organizations and several EvCC student services will be at the fair between 4 and 6 p.m. at the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center at 2000 Tower St. in Everett.

“At EvCC, we want to erase the stigma of asking for help for basic needs,” said Rachel Strachan, EvCC Workforce Funding Program Manager, who is organizing the fair. “There are so many resources that can help make getting a degree, certificate or job training more attainable.”

Attendees can come and go at their convenience, and there will be free parking. Children are welcome, and light snacks will be provided.

Everett Community College educates more than 15,000 students ages 12 to over 80 every year, many of whom are balancing college with work, parenting, high school, learning English or navigating a new country as a refugee.

“Regardless of the type of student, we’ve seen an increase in requests for assistance with food, tuition, books, transportation, housing and more,” Strachan said. “This resource fair is an opportunity for folks to get to know the myriad of resources available to them.”
