EVERETT, Wash. – Everett Community College inducted four former athletes, one coach, and one team into the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame at a dinner June 8 at EvCC’s Walt Price Student Fitness Center.

The 245 attendees at the event also celebrated the female and male athletes of the year, the team of the year and 11 student athletes of the year, recognized for academic and athletic excellence.

“It was fantastic to see all the support for these inductees and recognized students,” EvCC Athletic Director Garet Studer said. “It was one of the most well attended banquets in recent memory and it was obvious how much it meant to the inductees, the student athletes, and their families.”

The 2023 Hall of Fame induction class included Erin Feeney, Levi Lacey, Kaitlin Liias (Fisher), Danielle Monson, Max Whitt, and the 2013 Northwest Athletic Conference championship baseball team.

Erin Feeney attended Jackson High School where she played basketball for current EvCC head women’s coach Jeannie Thompson. After a freshman season at Western Washington University, Erin transferred to Everett for the 2012-2013 season where she scored 614 points and averaged 24.6 per game, both of which are program single season records.

Levi Lacey coached baseball at EvCC for 16 seasons, starting the program back up in 2001 after a 20 year hiatus, and concluding with an amazing season in 2017 after a second place finish at the NWAC Championships. Lacey became the winningest coach in program history, amassing an overall record of 474-223 and winning 36 playoff games. His squads never finished lower than fourth place in the region and were crowned north region champions five times, finishing as NWAC runner up twice and, in 2013, winning Everett's first NWAC Championship since 1966.

Kaitlin Liias (Fisher) was a two-time NWAC (then NWAACC) track and field champion and All American in the 800 meter in 2012 and 2013. Her 800 time of 2:15.5 ranks second all time at EvCC by two tenths of a second to fellow EvCC Hall of Famer Cindy Yahne. In addition to her track season accomplishments, Kaitlin was also a member of the 2011 and 2012 NWAC championship and EvCC Hall of Fame cross country teams.

Danielle Monson played softball at EvCC for the 2007 season before transferring to Central Washington University, where she went on to have a standout career and was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference player of the year in 2010, among several other accolades. Dani is the single-season hits leader at EvCC with 88 as well as the stolen base leader with 54, and her single-season batting average of .512 ranks second of all time at EvCC. Dani was named First Team All Region and was one of 13 players from the NWAC to be named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American.

Max Whitt played two seasons for the Trojans in 2012 and 2013 and was a key member of the 2013 Championship team. In that season Max led the team in hits (63), runs scored (50) and stolen bases (11). Max was named the North Region MVP and an American Baseball Coaches Association First Team All American Infielder. His 50 runs tie the most in a single season in EvCC program history. He also holds a spot in the EvCC top 10 in career runs, career hits, career doubles, career stolen bases, and career walks. After EvCC, Max went on to win a national championship at Lewis & Clark College and was drafted in the 17th round by the Miami Marlins.

The 2013 EvCC baseball team won the program’s second ever conference championship and the first since 1966. A 21-3 north region record was more than enough to clinch the third north region championship in the Levi Lacey era. A dominant run through the non-conference schedule and postseason earned the team a 39-10 record, which is tied for the most wins in program history. A number of players on the team earned postseason honors, one was eventually drafted (Josh Kimborowicz), and Levi Lacey was named NWAC Coach of the Year.
