EVERETT, Wash – Get help applying for financial aid for college 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at Everett Community College.

EvCC is hosting College Goal Washington, a free event that helps participants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2024-2025. To receive both federal and state financial aid for college, students must complete the FAFSA.

The event is at EvCC’s north Everett campus, 2000 Tower St, in Shuksan Hall.

Future college students can also get assistance with filling out an application to attend EvCC or apply for other EvCC resources.

For undocumented students and students who do not qualify for federal financial aid, help is available with filling out the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WAFSA).

A Spanish-language interpreter will be available.

Anyone requesting financial aid assistance will be helped at this event, but to make the best use of time, students and contributors (usually parents/guardians and students’ spouses) are strongly encouraged to take these steps:

  • Create a Federal Student Aid identification (FSA ID) at studentaid.gov/fsa-id
  • Bring financial records (recent tax forms and/or pay stubs), social security numbers and driver’s licenses (if any). For more details, visit EverettCC.edu/CollegeGoal
  • Attend the event together because household financial information is a key part of completing the form.

Even if students do not have all of their paperwork they are still encouraged to attend the event to get the process started. The event is open to all students and families, no matter where a student plans to attend school.

Financial aid applications are considered the gateway to accessing federal, state and private financial aid resources, such as grants, scholarships and student loans. Federal student loans offer many benefits not typically found in private loans, including low fixed interest rates, income-based repayment plans, loan forgiveness and deferment options.

Visit EverettCC.edu/CollegeGoal to request accommodations or sign up for reminders for the College Goal Washington: Financial Aid and Admission Workshop.
