Everett Community College is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment for all. We strive to provide equal opportunity to access our educational and administrative services, programs, and activities. This page provides an overview of resources, services, and policies at EvCC that support accessibility.
Accessibility Resources and Services
EvCC Divisions and Departments
- The Center for Transformative Teaching supports faculty professional development, including on topics related to accessible and inclusive teaching practices.
- The Center for Disability Services (CDS) assists EvCC students with academic accommodations, resources, and referrals, and advocates for full support of students with disabilities.
- The eLearning Department supports EvCC’s online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses and works closely with faculty to promote the use of accessible technologies and media.
- The Equity and Social Justice Division promotes an inclusive and equitable campus climate and works to eliminate gaps in aspiration, access, achievement, engagement, and economic progress for underserved and underrepresented populations, including those with disabilities.
Information about Accessibility
- Accessibility 101 is a public course, offered by Washington’s State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, that provides a broad overview of accessibility and universal design practices.
- User Guide to Accessibility for Google Apps contains extensive information about accessibility features for Google Apps used at EvCC.
- Accessibility training and guides for Microsoft Office products contain both videos and text documentation on creating accessible content with Office applications used at EvCC.
EvCC Accessibility Policies
Several policies related to accessibility, accommodations for disabilities, and non-discrimination are in place at EvCC. These include:

EvCC Accessibility Plan
EvCC maintains a college-wide accessibility plan that guides our continuous efforts to improve accessibility on our campus and to inform and educate members of the college community about accessibility resources. This plan is updated regularly by the Accessible Technology and Digital Media Committee, with annual reports provided on the college’s progress toward achieving the plan’s goals.

IT Accessibility Coordinator
As required by Washington’s OCIO Policy 188, EvCC has designated an IT Accessibility Coordinator. The Executive Director of Technology Services currently acts in this capacity.
