Distinguished Alumni - 2016

Everett Community College has selected Providence Health & Services chief operating officer Kim Williams and accountant Bill Fulton as the college’s 2016 distinguished alumni. The two were honored at the EvCC Foundation benefit breakfast April 26.

Williams of Camano Island earned an associate degree in nursing at EvCC. She then worked as a registered nurse in Everett before moving to Bellingham, where she worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 25 years. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Western Washington University and returned to Everett in 2003 to work for Providence.

“Kim understands the value of collaboration, and continues to work with our health sciences department to provide pathways for current students, who, like her, are interested in a career in health care,” said EvCC President David Beyer. 

Fulton, of Snohomish, attended Everett Junior College in 1964 before transferring to what was then known as Western Washington State College. He also returned twice to EvCC – in 1999 to learn to speak Spanish and in 2011 to participate in the small business accelerator course. 

Fulton, a certified public accountant who has run his own accounting business since 1978, is known for his work in the community. Fulton joined the Snohomish Chamber and served as its president. He was elected to the Snohomish city council in 1992 and represented the city in the formation of the Snohomish County Visitor's Bureau. He also participated on the design committee for the Snohomish School District Aquatic Center and was the chair of the steering committee building the Riverview Wildlife Sanctuary.  He has twice been recognized by the Association of Washington School Administrators as citizen community leader of the year in the Snohomish School District.

“Bill is an excellent example of a graduate who becomes a civic-minded, well-respected member of the community and someone who clearly appreciates and lives the role of a lifelong learner,” Beyer said.
