Program Map for Advanced Manufacturing Technology Composites ATA
The Composites program is a hands-on, in-depth overview of the processes involved in the development and production of composite products. Skills include tooling, fabrication, machining, assembly, quality assurance, repair, lay-up, vacuum bagging, and the curing processing of wet laminating. In addition, the program is designed to prepare students to fabricate, assemble, and repair composite materials and structures.
The knowledge and skills gained through this program are required for entry-level positions as composite technicians. Some of the careers where composite technical skills can be applied include repair technician, fabricator and parts designer. Composites can be applied in many other fields to include aerospace and transportation sectors, sporting goods, medical devices and power generation.

Notes on using this map:
* indicates an elective course that is recommended but not required and could be substituted with another appropriate course. For example, ENGL& 102* on a map means that ENGL& 102* is recommended, but any 5-credit course from the Basic Communication Skills list on the DTA would also be acceptable.
→ indicates a pre-requisite relationship. For example, MATH&141→ MATH&142 on a map indicates that a student must pass MATH& 141 before taking MATH& 142
(F, W, Sp, Su) indicates the quarters in which a course is offered, if not offered every quarter. For example, ART 116 (W) means that ART 116 is only offered during Winter quarters
TS stands for Transitional Studies. Courses taken through the Transitional Studies department do not qualify for financial aid but cost only $25 per quarter. To see if you qualify, contact the Advising Center at advising@everettcc.edu or 425-388-9339.
& as part of a course number (e.g. ACCT& 202) indicates that the course is part of the Common Course Numbering System
D as part of a course number (e.g. ENGL& 102D) indicates that the course fulfills the Diversity Course requirement for the AAS-DTA degree

Prepare for college-level math
If your math placement is below MATH 76, you’ll need to take the following sequence of courses, starting from the level you placed into:
- TS 60 → TS 70
Prepare for college-level English
If your English placement is below ENGL 98, you’ll need to take ENGL/TS/AEP 97
Note: English language learners may need additional courses before ENGL/TS 97 depending on their placement.
Choose one of the following options to complete part of the Related Instruction requirement:
- Take ENGT 101 - Introduction to Graphics and Measurement
- Take TS/MATH 76 - Mathematical Literacy → TS/MATH 86 - Essentials of Intermediate Algebra
Choose one of the following options to complete part of the Related Instruction Requirement:
- Take TS/ENGL 98 - Introduction to College Writing
- Take ENGL& 101/101D - English Composition I
Choose one of the following options to complete part of the Common Technical Requirements:
- MFG T 100 - Safety for Manufacturing
- MFG T 102 - Manufacturing Employment Readiness
Before registering each quarter, check your Degree Planner to see what classes you should take to stay on track. See your faculty program advisor with any questions you have.

Complete college-level courses. Focus on completing courses that are in Common Technical Requirements in all of Advanced Manufacturing Technology ATA Pathways, so that if you change to another Manufacturing ATA pathway most of the credits you’ve earned already will apply to your new goal.
Complete additional courses that satisfy the Common Technical Requirements:
- CT 101 - Introduction to Composites
- MFG T 117 - Blueprint Reading and Schematics
- ENG T 100 - Introduction to Engineering Graphics and 2D AutoCAD
Note: If you have already completed the composites certificate, you do not need to take CT 101. Additionally, you may substitute MFG T 107 - Machining with Mastercam, MFG T 119 - Introduction to Robotics, or MFG T 202 - LEAN Operations Management for CT 101.
Complete remaining Related Instruction courses. BUS 110D - Business Communications is recommended. Other Related Instruction courses you may take instead are:
- BUS 165 - Service Essentials for Business
