Dual Credit Quiz: Your high school and at an EvCC location

You answered that you wanted to earn college credit at your high school and at an EvCC location. You can do both! 

Here are your options for earning college credit at your high school: 

College in the High School

Earn college credit and high school credit at the same time for approved advanced high school classes. Up to 60 percent tuition reduction and fee waiver available for low-income students.

  • Eligible Students: 9th-12th grade
  • Location: Your high school
  • Cost: $220 per 5 credit class (Fee waivers may be available.)
  • Courses: Academic transfer courses
  • Schedule: High school semester or academic year
  • Placement: Must meet class prerequisites. Verification performed by high school. 
  • Application Process: Submit the EvCC online application following the program's application guidelines

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit

Earn high school and college credit at the same time in select high school vocational/technical classes at a reduced cost. Available at most local high schools and the Sno-Isle Skills Center. You must earn a C or better to get college credit.

  • Eligible Students: 9th-12th grade
  • Location: Your high school or Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center
  • Cost: $50 administrative fee
  • Courses: Career and technical courses
  • Schedule: High school semester or academic year
  • Placement: Not applicable 
  • Application Process: Submit the EvCC online application following the program's application guidelines

Running Start

High school juniors and seniors can take any college-level class at EvCC tuition-free. Credits earned through Running Start may be used to meet both high school and college requirements.

  • Eligible Students: 11th-12th grade
  • Location: EvCC's main campus in Everett and online
  • Cost: 1-15 credits tuition-free for college-level courses; student pays for textbooks, fees, and transportation
  • Courses: Academic transfer and professional/technical courses
  • Schedule: Fall, Winter, and Spring quarter (10 weeks)
  • Placement: Math and English placement, but does not need to be college-level placement
  • Application Process: Submit the Running Start online application with the required documentation

Underage Admissions and SummerSmart

Middle and high school students can earn college credit year-round at EvCC through a special underage admissions process for students not yet eligible for Running Start. The SummerSmart program allows students younger than 17 to take college courses during the Summer quarter. 

  • Eligible Students: Middle and high school students
  • Location: EvCC's main campus in Everett and online
  • Cost: Full tuition, fees, textbooks, and transportation
  • Courses: Academic transfer and professional/technical courses
  • Schedule: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters (8-10 weeks)
  • Placement: Must meet class prerequisites
  • Application Process: Submit the EvCC general application and follow the underage admissions process.
