What are testing accommodations?

The accommodations that are currently available include:

  • Additional time
  • Alternative Testing Location
  • Use of learning supports or technology

All exams on a computer have standard mouse and keyboard. If you require additional peripherals, please contact us to be sure that we have your required device available.

If you need an interpreter for the instructions portion of any of these exams, please complete the interpreter request form.

All students are required to provide photo identification at all testing locations on campus.

Placement Testing

AccuPlacer

The AccuPlacer placement test is multiple choice and untimed. If you require additional learning supports or technology, please contact cds@everettcc.edu. You do not need to be registered with the CDS Office, but you will need to provide supporting documentation, as described on our Documentation page.

CASAS

For the CASAS assessment (for pre-college transitional studies or English Language Acquisition), is done both on the computer and has a hand-written writing portion. If you need additional time for this exam or other accommodations, you will need to contact the CDS Office. You do not need to be registered with the CDS Office, but you will need to provide supporting documentation, as described on the Documentation page.

GED Testing

Students requesting accommodations for the GED test can do so on their GED.com account.  The CDS Staff can help with this process if needed, but students will need to submit their documentation though their own GED account.

Certiport Testing

Certiport, a PearsonVue subsidiary, uses the Certiport Reasonable Adjustments Request System. They manage accommodation requests separately from most other PearsonVue exams. They have their own set of accommodation requirements, which can be reviewed online.

Certiport manages the following certification exams:

  • Adobe Certified Associate (ACA)
  • Swift Certification (Apple)
  • Autodesk Certified User
  • IC3 Digital Literacy Certification
  • IT Specialist Certification
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
  • Microsoft Certified Fundamentals

PearsonVue Testing

PearsonVue manages the accommodations for the following exams:

Accommodations for these exams are handled through the PearsonVue Reasonable Adjustments Request System. You will need to request accommodations before you schedule your exam.

You can review additional information about PearsonVue accommodations for your specific exam on the PearsonVue website.

NEX Nursing Entrance Exam

For accommodations on the Nursing program’s entrance exam, the NEX (Previously called the PAX), you will need the following:

  • Have completed your Intake Appointment and are currently registered with the CDS Office.
  • Purchase the Exam. You should have purchased: SKU: NEX, Proctor Option: Proctor360
  • Complete the EvCC NEX Accommodation Form AT LEAST two weeks before your scheduled exam.
  • You will receive a confirmation email when your request has been received and another confirmation email when your request has been completed.

Do not start the exam without confirmation from the NLN that your accommodation has been made. You will get an email letting you know when your accommodations are in place. Failure to follow this instruction may result in a standard exam being administered. No refund or replacement exam will be granted.

If you are re-taking the NEX, you will need to complete the EvCC NEX Accommodation Form again, since the NLN applies the accommodations directly onto each purchased exam.

For questions, contact cdstesting@everettcc.edu.
