(Postponed) African/African American Family Event: Hip Hop, The Language of America

African/African American Family Event: Hip Hop, The Language of America
April 28, 6 - 8 p.m.
Jackson Conference Center and Zoom

The African/African American Family Event is a campus wide effort to create a sense of belonging for black students, by building bridges between current/prospective students and the EvCC community. This year's theme is Hip Hop, The Language of America: From an epidemic to a pandemic, how do we recover? We want to use this time to look at how African American people have advanced pop culture in the USA. We will also take a look at how communities overcame the war on drugs in the 1980s, as a way to move forward from the COVID-19 pandemic that we face today.
