BAS Accounting: How to Apply

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024!

This page explains how to apply for EvCC's bachelor's of applied science in accounting degree program, once you have completed your associate's degree.

Classes start on September 23, 2024.

Part 2: Admission Process

Admission Requirements

You may apply to the BAS accounting program before you have completed your associate degree, but before being admitted to the program, you must meet these requirements:

One of the following is required: 

  • Associate Degree in Accounting (90 credits)
  • Business AAS-DTA (90 credits)
  • AAS General Transfer Degree (90 credits)
  • 90 equivalent credits that represent the combination of program admission required courses and other transferable college-level credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 prior to being admitted

AND the following courses must be completed before Fall Quarter:

  • Accounting 112: Federal Income Taxation I (offered fall, winter, spring and summer at EvCC) 
  • Accounting 250: Intermediate Accounting I (offered spring and summer only at EvCC)
  • ACCT& 201: Principles of Accounting I (offered fall, winter, spring and summer at EvCC)
  • ACCT& 202: Principles of Accounting II (offered fall, winter, spring and summer at EvCC)
  • ACCT& 203: Principles of Accounting III (offered fall, winter, spring and summer at EvCC)
  • 5 credits of English Composition (ENGL& 101 or ENGL& 102)
  • 5 credits of college-level math (MATH& 107 or higher)
  • 10 credits of natural science, social science or humanities

Application Priority Deadlines

If you plan to apply for financial aid, we recommend completing the FAFSA or WASFA by May 1, 2024. 

We recommend completing the steps below by or before the priority deadline:

  • Students new to EvCC: June 30, 2024
  • EvCC students or graduates: Aug. 15, 2024

If you miss the deadline, please apply anyway.

I am an Everett Community College student or graduate.

Step 1: Re-enroll or talk to your program advisor. 

Current EvCC students, talk with your program advisor to make sure you are on track to pursue a BAS in Accounting degree. If you don’t know your program advisor, email advising@everettcc.edu

Graduates from EvCC who meet the admissions requirements listed above, need to fill out the online application to re-enroll. Select Academic program and Business DTA. 

Returning EvCC students, if you haven’t graduated and haven’t attended EvCC in four or more quarters, fill out the online application to re-enroll.

Step 2: Complete the accounting BAS program application 

You will need your ctcLink ID number to fill out the BAS in Accounting Application form

If you don’t yet have a ctcLink ID and have completed Step 1, you should receive an email in a few days with your ctcLink ID.

Step 3: Pay the application fee. 

Pay the $25 application fee in ctcLink.  Watch for receipt of your acceptance letter into the BAS in Accounting Program via email, if you are eligible.

Step 4: Talk with a BAS advisor.

Once you receive a letter of acceptance into the program, talk with an advisor to plan your class schedule before registering for classes. Email accountingBAS@everettcc.edu to schedule an appointment.

Step 5: Register and pay for classes. 

Register and pay online in ctcLink. Class registration will open in May in the year you plan to start. See payment deadlines.

I earned an associate degree from another college.

If you meet the admissions requirements listed above, please complete these steps:

Step 1: Enroll at EvCC. 

Fill out the online application. Select Academic program and Business DTA.

Step 2: Complete the accounting BAS program application. 

You will need your ctcLink ID number to fill out the BAS in Accounting Application form

If you don’t yet have a ctcLink ID and have completed Step 1, you should receive an email in a few days with your ctcLink ID.

Step 3: Fill out the transfer credit evaluation form.  

You also need to ask your previous college(s) to send your official transcripts to EvCC. 

Step 4: Pay the $25 application fee. 

Pay the $25 application fee in ctcLink. After you pay the fee, your transcripts will be evaluated for transfer of credit, which will take 4-6 weeks.  Watch for receipt of your acceptance letter into the BAS in Accounting Program via email, if you are eligible.

Step 5: Complete orientation.

New students are required to complete orientation before registering for classes. Please allow 2-3 business days for processing after you complete orientation. You will receive an email when your record is updated. 

Step 6: Talk with an advisor.

Once you receive a letter of acceptance via email into the program, talk with an advisor to plan your class schedule before registering for classes. Email accountingBAS@everettcc.edu to schedule an appointment.

I am new to college and want to earn a BAS in accounting.
