Program Map for Diagnostic Ultrasound

Courses outlined in this program map are required for transfer to Seattle University.  Courses that are specific to an individual campus or program are listed in parentheses. Schools may change prerequisites without warning, so be sure to double check the website of your program of interest.

This program map is designed to prepare students to transfer to an Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree program in Diagnostic Ultrasound.  For more information, contact a program advisor. Notes on using this map:

* indicates an elective course that is recommended but not required and could be substituted with another appropriate course. For example, ENGL& 102* on a map means that ENGL& 102* is recommended, but any 5-credit course from the Basic Communication Skills list on the DTA would also be acceptable.
 
indicates a pre-requisite relationship. For example, MATH&141→ MATH&142 on a map indicates that a student must pass MATH& 141 before taking MATH& 142

(F, W, Sp, Su) indicates the quarters in which a course is offered, if not offered every quarter. For example, ART 116 (W) means that ART 116 is only offered during Winter quarters

TS stands for Transitional Studies. Courses taken through the Transitional Studies department do not qualify for financial aid but cost only $25 per quarter. To see if you qualify, contact the Advising Center at advising@everettcc.edu or 425-388-9339.

& as part of a course number (e.g. ACCT& 202) indicates that the course is part of the Common Course Numbering System

If your math placement is below MATH& 146 - Introduction to Statistics, you’ll need to take the following courses, starting from the level you placed into:

  • TS 60 → TS 70 → MATH/TS 76 → MATH/TS 86

Special Note for Students Planning to Transfer to Seattle University: If your math placement is below MATH& 141, be sure to complete both MATH 86 and MATH 96 because MATH 96 is required for entry into MATH& 141:

  • TS 60 →  TS 70 → MATH/TS 76 → MATH/TS 86 → MATH 96

If your English placement is below ENGL& 101, you’ll need to take following sequence of courses, starting from the level you placed into:
ENGL/TS/AEP 97 → ENGL/TS/AEP 98

Note: English language learners may need additional courses before ENGL/TS 97 depending on their placement.

Talk bubble iconCheck back in with your faculty program advisor to discuss if this is the right program for you and update your plan of study as needed. Investigate transfer options; update your resume; see a program advisor

  • At this point in your program journey you could switch to any other AAS-DTA degree with minimal loss of time and credits.
  • Attend internship and resume workshops. Check out company or organization websites to find out more about what is involved in a career in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Attend career fair and explore internship opportunities.  Take note of application deadlines and documentation needed to apply.  You will be ready to apply while taking courses in phase 3, but now is a good time to start gathering information and start maintaining a resume.
  • Visit a campus or at least their websites. Could you see yourself on that campus?  Prepare an initial list of transfer schools.  Some nearby choices for EvCC students that have a Diagnostic Ultrasound programs are Bellevue College and Seattle University.

 Framing Your Pathway

Complete all remaining program requirements before you transfer or graduate (if applicable).  If you change to another program in this phase, some credits earned may not apply to your new program.
