Nursing Program FAQ
Are there expiration/time limits for the prerequisites?
No, but there is no review on these topics once starting the program. Students are expected to know this information and be ready to use it. Also, the PAX admission test covers English comprehension, math and science which may be an indicator that a student should review a course if they do not do well in one of these categories.
Do all of the prerequisite classes need to be completed before applying for the program?
All of the five science courses must be completed before the deadline you are applying for. This is because we use the cumulative GPA from these five courses to give you points towards your application.
One or two non-science courses can be outstanding when submitting your application and could be completed during the down quarter in between applying for and starting the program. All prerequisites must be completed with the appropriate GPA before starting the program.
What GPA is needed for the prerequisite classes?
All prerequisite classes must be completed with at least a C grade or 2.0. The cumulative GPA for the five science courses must reach at least 3.0. So, if you did get a C in one of the science courses you would need higher grades on the others to make sure you reach the 3.0.
How many students are accepted into the program?
The day cohort accepts 40 students during the fall, winter, and spring quarters. The evening cohort accepts 39 students every other fall quarter.
How long does it take to complete the program?
The program is six quarters in length and takes two years to complete as the program does not run during the summer quarter.
When should I take the Nursing Application class?
You take the class every time you want to apply for the program the quarter before the deadline you are applying for. If you are applying for the Fall cohort you take it during Spring. If you are applying for the Winter cohort you take the class during the Summer, and if you are applying for the Spring cohort you take the class during the Fall quarter.

What immunizations are needed before applying for the program?
Students can use this Immunization Guide as a checklist to confirm they have what is needed with their healthcare provider. Make sure you check the timing of the immunizations to make sure you have completed all necessary steps prior to applying. For further clarification call 425-388-9461 or email healthprofessions@everettcc.edu.
Is a CNA license a requirement of the application?
No, it is not. However, you could get extra points towards your application if you did have a current license. It needs to be an active license within 12 months of your application deadline.
Does Everett have a part-time nursing program?
Our program is full time, but we do offer an evening cohort that starts every other fall quarter. The evening program classes start after 4pm which gives students another option.
Does Everett have an LPN bridge program?
Our bridge program was discontinued several years ago so students would go through the entire program. However, a student with an LPN license would get extra points towards their application for having a current license and even more points for having worked as an LPN within 12 months from the deadline they are applying for.
