Furniture & Equipment Placement

Accessible furniture and ergonomic computer equipment will be placed in your classroom by the beginning of the quarter or within 1 week of receiving your request.

We do our best to ensure furniture is available in the classroom before classes start, but if you submit your request late, there may be a delay in getting furniture placed.  However, this delay should not be longer than 1 week. If you are still missing furniture after this time, please contact our office.

You can submit Furniture issues either by contacting our office via phone or email, or through the Accessible Furniture Help Ticket form.

How to Find Assigned Furniture & Equipment

Once furniture or equipment has been assigned and placed in the classroom, you can review the unit number information in your AccessPortal account under each class's Faculty Notification Letter Notes.

Work with your instructor to locate items in the classroom if you are unable to locate it.

Issues with Furniture or Equipment

Contact the CDS Office if your furniture or equipment:

  • Is not in the room
  • Was in the room, but was moved
  • Is broken or damaged
  • Does not meet your needs
  • Is no longer needed
  • Is being used by others in the classroom

Furniture or Equipment Loans

Some units are checked out directly to students instead of placed in the classroom. These units include:

  • Footstools
  • Crank handles for Adjustable Height Tables
  • Wireless Mouse
  • Small-size keyboards
  • Headsets for Voice Dictation software

Unit loans follow the same procedures as all CDS Equipment Loans.
