The Everett Community College Foundation awarded a record 248 student scholarships in 2018 so far, with an additional 36 to come. The Foundation will award almost $400,000 in scholarships this year, including 17 new scholarships from donors and grants. The funds helped 233 students, who received an average of $1,500 in scholarship funds to pay for their EvCC education. As the college has grown, the number of students seeking help to pay for their education has increased. The Foundation is working to meet the demand, said John Olson, executive director of the EvCC Foundation.
