Voices of EvCC - Rich Haldi

Rich Haldi Rich Haldi, Vice President for Student Services, retired in June, 2008, after 37 years of service at EvCC. Rich was hired as a faculty member in 1971 teaching math classes as one third of his assignment and the other two thirds as Associate Director of Student Activities. During this time he gained valuable experience working with students and student groups.

As Director of Student Activities from the summer of 1976 until 1990, Rich also managed the Trojan Union Building (TUB), which was the college's student union and library. During Presidents Day weekend of February 1987, a fire burned the building to the ground.

Rich Haldi 1970sAn Everett firefighter, Gary Parks, lost his life in battling the fire. Rich was instrumental in the rebuilding effort of the new Gary Parks Student Union Building.

He became the Registrar in the fall of 1990 and in 1996, Dean of Students, then held the position of Vice President for Student Services from 1998 until his retirement.
