Voices of EvCC - Christine Kerlin

Christine Kerlin Dr. Christine Kerlin has been at EvCC since 1996, when she started as Director of Admissions and Records. Merging the two departments into a one-stop shop, Christine became Associate Dean of Enrollment Services. Some of Christine’s favorite efforts over the years include International Education, Middle School Outreach, Hi-Q and Enrollment Management.

In 2005, EvCC President, Charlie Earl, asked Christine to head up the University Center, bringing bachelor’s and master’s degrees to the region, in addition to her enrollment management responsibilities.

In 2009, Christine’s focus shifted to moving the University Center onto the EvCC campus and the development of strategic initiatives for the college as Vice President of the University Center and Strategic Planning.

Christine is pictured with two objects that are significant to her – a quilt with a photo of the Enrollment Services staff stitched into it and a framed photo of Governor Gregoire signing the University Center legislation.

Christine shares memorable times in the crowded Enrollment Services space in Jackson Center, kazoo band performances, the start of a moveable feast known today as “Winter Grazing,” and shuttling between campus and the downtown transit station which was the original home of the University Center. Listen to that story (2.31). Audio Icon
