Safe Zone Program

Vision

Safe Zone will create a courageous, liberating, and celebratory campus culture for students, staff, and faculty of all sexualities and gender identities/expressions. We will provide resources to support self-efficacy for all people to be their authentic, intersectional selves. Through Safe Zone’s powerful advocacy, EvCC will become the most queer-inclusive community college in Washington State, where all voices are heard and valued.

Mission

Recognizing and honoring that queer communities have specific knowledge and expertise relating to our own lives, EvCC Safe Zone strives to create a campus culture that is free from physical, emotional, and systemic violence through the fierce promotion of equity, empathy, and justice. We provide training and outreach, shape policy and procedure development, and exert our influence on campus to further the well-being of our communities.
