Timely warning: Fire near EvCC June 29 - No injuries or damage

Date: June 29, 2024

The following is a timely warning regarding an act of arson near Everett Community College’s campus on June 29 that was quickly extinguished and resulted in no injuries or damage.

At approximately 10:07 a.m. EvCC security officers observed smoke near the south end of parking lot K. Officers responded to the scene and saw a fire had spread from a field onto grass on campus. They called the fire department, which responded and quickly put out the fire. 

There was no damage to EvCC buildings or structures, and there were no injuries. 

The suspect(s) have not been apprehended and the investigation is ongoing. If you have information that could be helpful in this investigation, please contact the Everett Police Department at 425-257-8400 or fill out a report online at www.mycrimereport.us

The remainder of this notice provides general information about preventing and reporting an arson and is not necessarily related to this incident. 

  • Report suspicious activity (including the use of open flame) on and around campus properties and notify Everett emergency resources immediately by calling 9-1-1. 
  • Contact Everett Community College Security at 425-388-9990 or the Everett Police Department if you become aware of someone talking about or planning an arson.
