Governance Model A
EvCC Proposed Shared Governance Model A is adapted from Walla Walla Community College, who recently underwent their own governance implementation.
The model consists of a single campus governing body, the Campus Council, chaired by the President. The composition of the Campus Council is based on representation by constituency. Three EvCC Senates (each serving a different campus constituency: faculty, staff and students) will elect or appoint 2 or 3 representatives to the Campus Council. Thus the Campus Council will comprise no fewer than seven and no more than ten members (including the President).
The major campus wide committees in our current system (some of which are represented in this diagram) will in this model function as Standing Committees of the Campus Council. The EvCC SG Taskforce is also proposing the a new committee focusing on Equity issues across the campus be added as a Standing Committee of the Council. Standing Committees of the Council will regularly submit reports to, and seek guidance from, the Campus Council.
During deliberations in the EvCC Shared Governance Transitional Year, additional current committees and/or newly formed committees may also be designated as a Standing Committee of the Campus Council.
