EvCC Weather Closure Process

EvCC's Weather Advisory Team will monitor weather conditions overnight and will communicate delays or closures to the campus community. The team will continue to monitor the situation and will communicate updates to the college as needed.

The process for any weather related incidents will include the following:

EvCC President and Campus Operations will have a conference call at 10 p.m. the evening before classes to assess weather conditions and again at 4:30 a.m. the day of classes to make a decision about closure or delay.

The team will receive a report from the Director of Campus Safety and the Facilities Director on the status of all on-campus and off-campus sites. President Chemene Crawford will decide if the college should remain open, delay, or close. Every effort will be made to post closure information by 5 a.m. for day classes and 4 p.m. for evening classes via RAVE (text, e-mail, EvCC website, and social media), the college's main phone line (x9100), and FlashAlert (news media notification). Messages will only be posted if the college is closed.

Please keep in mind that due to changing weather conditions, the Weather Advisory Team will continue to monitor the weather in the event that the situation changes, and the college will be updated as needed. It is our intent to make decisions that give students and employees enough time to travel to campus if needed with safety as our highest priority.
