Getting a Visa
How to apply for a student visa
*Note: Due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions that are posed on various countries, it is best to consult with International Education office regarding immigration regulation and its updates.
- First, you must apply for admission to Everett CC as a full-time international student.
- Once admitted, you will receive an admission packet, which has your I-20, admission letter, and orientation schedule. Please carefully review these documents to help prepare you for your visa interview.
- Pay SEVIS Fee* with a completed form I-901, and keep the receipt for your visa application and interview.
- (*Not everyone will need to pay. The I901 fee is $350 US dollars and is subject to change by the federal government.)
- Find the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate in your home country, apply for a visa and schedule your interview.
- Prepare to answer questions at the interview. We recommend you look at the NAFSA Visa interview tips here as your prepare for your interview: https://www.nafsa.org/professional-resources/browse-by-interest/10-points-remember-when-applying-student-visa
- Bring the admission packet and other materials (SEVIS Fee receipt, bank statement, your education record, etc.) to your visa interview. You can apply for a visa 90 days before school starts, but we recommend that you should apply as early as possible.
