Board of Trustees 2023-24 Priorities

In 2023-2024 the Board has established the following annual priorities in support of the achievement of the Core Themes:

  1. Continue successful onboarding of the president. Support the president as she leads the post-COVID college, rebuilding a vibrant campus culture and re-engaging students, while cultivating and strengthening key relationships in the community.
  2. Advance equity and social justice through successful implementation of the priorities and objectives outlined in EvCC’s five-year Strategic Plan, Charting a Path Forward to Equity. Ensure continuous improvement of strategic activities through regular review and analysis of disaggregated student success data and create opportunities for our underserved populations and students of color.
  3. Respond to ongoing enrollment challenges through the president’s enrollment initiatives. Focus on recruitment and retention ensuring financial aid is not a barrier for higher education opportunities for students at EvCC. Strategize with the president so the college can re-engage with local high schools to meet the needs of their future college students. Stay informed and focused on enrollment data and forecasting to be able to pivot quickly and make adjustments when needed to support the president, the college, and the community.
  4. Maintain prudent fiscal stewardship through strategic resource allocation review, assess methods identified to meet reserve accreditation standards and college policy, and support identifying and redistributing funding sources to promote innovation.
  5. Sponsor the development of a new EvCC Campus Master Plan that aligns the college’s physical spaces, facilities and resources with its mission, with the equity-minded priorities articulated in EVCC’s Strategic Plan, and with the shifting needs of the city of Everett, its surrounding communities and its physical environment.
