English Placement Scores

English proficiency is not required to be accepted. However, students who submit the following minimum scores, will be placed directly into English 101 or College/High School program.

For students coming to EvCC from a country outside the US where English is the primary language of instruction, successful completion of one year of academic classes (non-ESL) will allow students to be placed into ENGL& 101.

Completion of O level - student is placed into English 101

International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

Completion of C - student is placed into English 101

Completion of B2 - student is placed into English 101

Level 109 - student is placed into English 101

Kaplan International Language School

Completion of level C1 - student is placed into English 101

Standardized Tests

ACT Composite (English and Writing)

19 score in Reading and 7 score in Writing - student is placed into English 101

AP English Language and Composition

3 on the English Language and Composition test - student is placed into English 101

Duolingo English Test

The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour for only $49. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview, and writing sample which are shared with Everett Community College when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.
