Legislative Priorities

Everett Community College serves Legislative Districts 1, 10, 21, 38, 39, and 44.  We are fortunate to have a legislative delegation that appreciates the value of higher education in the communities we serve.

From training in area hospitals to water quality research, EvCC students receive real-world education to prepare them to transfer to a four-year school or go to work. EvCC is an Achieving the Dream Leader College of Distinction, recognized for degree completion, year-to-year retention, and students completing math and English requirements in their first year.

With our affordable and accessible programs, EvCC is primed to help people of every age and background survive this economic crisis and thrive on the other side, with better jobs than they had before. New high school graduates, laid-off workers, seasoned employees, future university students — all types of students count on EvCC to reinvent themselves. Our community college serves Washingtonians hardest hit by this crisis, so we are key to creating a stronger and more inclusive economy post-COVID.

Capital Projects

Major Projects

The capital budget for the 2023-25 biennieum includes funding for the Baker Hall Replacement project ($37,904,000 for design and construction). The facility will continue the modernization of our campus.  Built in the late 1950s, Baker Hall has inadequate ventilation and heating, aging carpet, equipment, and windows, and is not well-suited for the types of teaching and learning done in 2022.
Minor Works
Minor works funding was provided in the capital budget as well.  It will help us realign and provide greater visibility for spaces focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  Demolition of an aging building will require the college to relocate our nutrition classroom which needs specialized electricity, plumbing, and food preparation stations. Minor works funding will allow us to configure student engagement spaces to accommodate recreational activity and programming for students to build community.

Meet Our Students

Ashley Forst

When she earned her Associate in Arts and Sciences degree from EvCC, Ashley Forst became the first in her family to graduate from college. She chose EvCC for many reasons, especially on-campus housing. Now, she's fulfilling her dream of attending the University of Washington. "Do not be hard on yourself because your journey may not look like your peers. What matters is you’re here, you’re doing it, and you are working to achieve your dreams."

Melisa Parker

EvCC nursing graduate Melisa Parker.

As a child, Melisa Parker loved the idea of nursing, but was put off by working with bodily fluids. After spending time with family members in the hospital, she knew she belonged there. "I had a fierce physiological feeling and heard a voice that simply said, 'You could have an impact here.' That was the beginning of my journey to being who I was called to be." Melisa graduated in 2015 with her associate degree in nursing.

Vaughan Nelson

A middle school teacher instilled in Vaughan Nelson the belief that he could excel and achieve his dreams. Now he's on a mission to become a math teacher and replicate that classroom for another generation of students. EvCC's student housing, track and field team, TRiO and Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement programs are all part of Vaughan's success story. "I was chosen to come to this school for a reason," he says.
