When Javier Corona decided to move from his Centralia hometown for college, he looked for schools with a great education and a place to stay. “When I saw EvCC, I knew I didn’t need to look anywhere else,” said Corona, a resident assistant who lives in EvCC’s newest student housing building, Cedar Hall. Corona, a sophomore psychology major, cut the ribbon at a celebration of Cedar Hall on Thursday (March 1). The dedication also included a ceremonial blessing from representatives from the Tulalip Tribes. EvCC’s campus, including Cedar Hall, is located on historical tribal lands. The 132-bed student housing building, located at 931 Broadway, opened in September 2017. At Cedar Hall, students can choose a studio, three-bedroom or four-bedroom apartment. Each apartment has private bedrooms with a shared living room and full kitchen. Rent includes all utilities, wireless internet and furniture.

EvCC residence halls open to WWU Everett students

Western Washington University students in Everett can now live on campus. WWU students can move into Everett Community College’s two residence halls under an agreement signed this week by both schools. About 200 students per year are enrolled in WWU bachelor’s and master’s degree programs offered through the University Center on EvCC’s Everett campus. “In 1986, Western brought programs to Everett for students in Snohomish and Island counties who wanted to continue their education. We now have 12 bachelor’s and master’s degree options. Giving our students an option for housing is the logical next step,” said Lois Longwood, WWU Director of Degree and Professional Programs for Extended Education.

EvCC second student housing building named Cedar Hall

Everett Community College’s second student housing building now has a name – Cedar Hall. The name was suggested by EvCC student Jenna Mohr and selected by a committee of EvCC students and staff. Mohr will receive $250 from the developer, Teutsch Partners, for suggesting the winning name.

EvCC student housing building named Mountain View 

Kōz Development, Inc. President & CEO Cathy Reines and EvCC student Jeff Noyes, who suggested the winning name for EvCC’s new student housing building, Mountain View.

Jeff Noyes has only attended Everett Community College for two quarters, but he’s already made college history. Noyes, 20, of Lake Stevens suggested the winning name for the college’s new student housing building: Mountain View. He wins $250 from the developer, Kōz Development, Inc., and decades of bragging rights. Mountain View will open in September.

Kōz Development to construct EvCC student housing building

A Snohomish-based real estate development and architecture firm is building new student housing near Everett Community College. The project includes 120 student rooms, common areas for the residents to gather, and an outside courtyard. Kōz, partnering with a local investor, will retain ownership of the building.
